You people are full of Ca Ca. There is not enough traffic to warrant anything big coming to MiAdv.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but reality is real.

Sadly, MrScott

Ummm, I didn't mention anything big and no I'm not expecting something on the level that Cedar Point would get. They will eventually get some sort of expansion along the lines of one of its sister parks (Maybe a Dorney type expansion but most likely something that Valleyfair! or Worlds of Fun would receive)

If pitched as a family park, in coordination with Grand Haven / Muskegon's beaches and attractions, it might carve out a very decent niche, similar to the Wisconsin Dells. But Scott's right in that it won't probably ever hit the size of Cedar Point as long as SFGrAm and CP are around.

It will aways be low park on the CF:LP totem pole. Sad, but true. I would imagine that eventually they might get a hand-me-down coaster (you can have Boomerang if you want it) or maybe a "not-so-flashy" coaster. But large caps will not come very often to MiA.

The park will someday be a major player. SFWOA has not impacted CP's attendance. So there is room in the marketplace for MA.

That's like saying Iowa's Adventureland will become a major player.

Iowa's Adventureland isn't owned by CF, Busch, Parmount, or disney? Is it?

No, but Frontier City and Great Escape are owned by Six Flags, so let's use those for comparison instead.

I'm planning to go to MA next week. Any "signs" of anything new in terms of land clearing etc.?

They have been clearing the concrete chunks beyond the Falls (NE corner), but that's probably just because they're an eyesore. No signs of surveying, markings, or anything significant.

Have you ever seen Adventureland's entrance and infrastructure? They seem to think of themselves as a player.

[The entrance is Disneyesque. It's larger than a Paramount facade -- on par w/ Hersheypark co-opting a street for their entrance thoroughfair.]

Well that whole "Main Street" area is based on IOWA buildings from around the state. I think that the park has quite a bit of charm to it - just they need one decent steel coaster to compliment their woodies (3) - which are not bad for a smaller park.

If something doesn't happen in the next few weeks as far as construction, land clearing, etc. It's probably more likely that the rumored Hyper will not be their next season.

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!! ZOMBIE THREAD!!!! BOARD UP THE WINDOWS AND DOORS!!

Oh wait. Just the MiA people again. Scary, yes--but not that horrifying.

Yeah a mile-long coaster takes an awful lot of work. And seeing that VF had markings in the parking lot for a much smaller Impulse by August or so--you'd have to see a lot of flags pretty soon.

Not that parks follow them but a new coaster is not even in the five year plan.
