Michigan's Adventure Future Plans

Take it for what its worth, but i've been hearing OE is going to be scrapped, my initial reaction as well was to move it to MiA.
That's just what that park needs--a custom Arrow looper to go with their Arrow corkscrew.

Here's another straw; feel free to grasp at it.

Cap'n Obvious sez:

Hello citizens and welcome to the MiA For-freakin'-EVER thread! Has it gone in enough circles to qualify as a carnival spin-and-spue? Will it die out on its own? Oh, don't you WISH. FutureMan was at the League of Self-Proclaimed SuperHeroes (he had a weekend pass from the nice place with soft walls) and had a few things to say about this thread's direction:

November-CF's next cap ex press release: Idle speculation that Herc and OE are both going to MiA. Maybe they'll hand over Magnum too...

Press release date - January: Bellyaching that Herc and OE really aren't going to MiA and neither is any major ride. He predicted someone would say CF needs to drop $20 million in to MiA right now before the park dries up and blows away...but then again, so would a dog licking your computer screen. I wasn't too impressed.

Feb-March: Swoosh will spend time a-gigglin' about a little mouse coaster that spins. Someone else will get upset. Yet another armchair analyst will proclaim that MiA competes with SFGAM for the souls of all Chicagoland and shoud therefore have a racing giga.

March-April: People will swap photos of freshly-painted walls in the park and declare themselves the Ultimate MiA Insider

April 1st: Some phony press release that with 'sarcasim' bordering on the offensive and unneeded by anyone who wants the park to succeed. One more like it and the park will never open its gates again.

April 2nd: A very, very reliable source will predict 2004 will bring a major coaster...

I think you summed it up nicely!

Some phony press release that with 'sarcasim' bordering on the offensive and unneeded by anyone who wants the park to succeed

The same could be said for your post, CP. Are most of the replies in this thread inaccurate? Yes. Are you missing the point of this thread? Yep. Most of the fun of the thread is just sharing dreams for the park, not being the official copy of the official park press release list. :)

If this thread bothers you that much, just don't read it ;) I don't get where all the bitterness is coming from.

Playa *****es about this thread. Why does contribute to it so much then?

Because it's important to get in some target practice before the offseason gets into full swing?

Iv done a little research about cedar fair building up the parks they buy. From what i can tell MIA before cf bought it was pretty similar to dorney park was before cf bought it, They were both had national attention and they both had a massive woody.

Yes Timbers is much better than Herc but you get my drift, Also dorney was a much nicer park when cedar fair bought it thatn mia was, and they both had pattential. Dorney was givven lots of improvements and new rides the firtst couple of years under CF just like MIA did, however dorney didnt recieve any major rides untill Steel Force in 97 5 years after the park was aquired, and a couple years later it recieved another coaster, and then some more, and now the park is doing great, it has a great selection of rides and great coasters.

The point im getting at is i think MIA will proably fallow the same path dorney did, It may seem CF is neglecting it at first but just give it time and theyll do quite abit to it

The point is, MA is not in the "condition" of your average park. Therefore, it needs more improvement the most other aquired parks. It will probably be ten years or more to see the improvements that Dorney received starting year five of their acquiastion.

Well, Dorney didn't *just* get bigger and better rides because CF owned it....it got bigger and better because there was a MARKET to cater to, and Dorney has *loads* of competition....Phillies, 76ers, Iggles, Flyers just for starters, and then add in all the other *activities* in/around Philly.

MiA is nowhere NEAR that kind of market, and probably *never* will it become the kind of park Dorney has.....for better AND for worse...;)

Mistakes were made, others are to blame...

And CF bought the park why?

To develop a nice park that will never be quite as big as its brethen.
That's the nicest thing that you have ever said, Playa!

MrScott

CF bought the park because it makes money. Period.

Why?
