Michigan's Adventure Future Plans

Hmm...MI Trooper...it seems that we both said the same exact thing just a half hour apart. Very Interesting!!

So as much as we as enthusiasts would love to see a new coaster, the park needs to focus on the "draw"

*Some* enthusiasts, but clearly not all.

So you're saying a park like Holiday World can have, say, a 20% increase in attendance in a year when they don't add a new coaster? How can that be? ;)

Lol....

Holiday World is probably one of the few exceptions. I hate to tell you guys, but I don't see MA becoming the next Holiday World anytime soon ;) . HW is basically in a class all it's own, and I highly doubt your going to see another Amusement park in that "class" for many years to come.

I can think of one other park in Indiana that has surpassed HW's "class"

MIAdvFan...I guess I started typing when you made your post. Moosh's post was the only one I saw when I started typing. I thought the same thing when I saw your post before mine. :) Great minds think alike I guess... ;)

Moosh...quite right. Some...not all. :) To tell you the truth...I would rather see a modification to Corkscrew (the addition of a loop) with all the other items I mentioned before the addition of a major coaster. Just a thought.

MI Trooper...it is nice to have someone on the same wavelength as me!!

MI Trooper1 - adding a loop to 'Screw isn't as simple as adding one at the bottom of the drop. Those old Arrow Loop/Screws [like at VF] have a larger sized layout than the standard corkscrew model that MiA has. It's not going to happen...EVER!

Oh, dear Mooshie!!! You'll just have to make a trip over here to Michigan and we can show you how possible it really is................
Mamoosh's avatar
Mi-CG - I never said it was impossible, I said it wasn't simple. It is possible...expensive, but possible.

Oh, and don't look for me in Michigan for a few more years. I did MiA last year...that was more than enough to keep me happy for a while. Why don't you come out here to LA? ;)

It's a very good possibility. I haven't been out that way for about two years. Was in Torrance to see a huge customer, and am trying to get a reason to go out and see them again!!! You'll have to show me where to go )

Sorry, Bill....different models, slightly different layouts. Notice the position of the turn before the final brakes on the standard Arrow coarkscrew model, as seen here.

Notice how far it's moved forward towards the start of the lift in your pic. And that loop was standard on that model, it was not added later.

In order to add a loop to the Arrow cork model you'd have to also change a lot of the other track.

Or possibly extend the elevated turn immediately after the lift back a little ways, including the first drop? That'd create more room before the turn into the corkscrews. But I don't think MiA's corkscrew has enough speed to include a loop without more height :( Money's probably best spent elsewhere, like a restaurant or flat.
Who cares if it's even theoretically possible? What difference would it make?

"Now new and improved! Goes upside-downy one more time!"

For the cost of doing that, they could plop in a refurbished Musik Express or something they could market as a true addition. When VF had half of Excalibur dismantled and rebuilt, they didn't say one word about it. It's just not the CF way.
