DDR bug has hit hard
Gotta love the ability to make a one step edit for 'Love This Feeling' on DDRMAX home version... then take the card to the DDREX machine (since the one in Dayton has mem card slots)... ask friend who came with you to get you a soda... play said edit (faking all the 'missing steps')... wait until they get back with your soda and say, 'My God that was insane! But look, I triple A'ed it.'... then proceed to enjoy the thud accompanying their jaw hitting the floor.
Memory card - $10, Soda - $1, Round of DDREX - 50 cents, Seeing your friend have a coniption fit until they realize what you did - priceless. And I didn't even use my Mastercard.

A D on Konamix or an E on MAX *is* in fact a failing grade, whether or not you've got the options set to go on or not.
I did not blow on my card after all. I decided I'm going to just buy another card and back it up. And as I said, I'm never going to push any buttons on the system as long as that card is in the slot.
I've been looking around on ddrfreak.com and apparently this is a common problem.
But back to the game - has anyone here passed any Oni courses yet? I'm really getting into them, but I haven't passed one yet. I got 69.1% through Lesson Oni last night without losing a point, then I lost them all right in a row, 1,2,3,4, dead. Talk about frustrating....

I die around 20%. Irritates me because the songs after the third one in Lesson Oni aren't nearly as difficult.

You think? Isn't the last song in that course Ecstasy heavy? I'm not saying that's especially hard, but it's certainly harder than AM-3P. And The Cube standard is also harder than that, I think.
EDIT: Good news for those in Columbus and Central Ohio, hopefully. I've heard that either one or both Magic Mountains (east and north) will be getting DDR Extreme very soon (as in, they're on their way from California). That'd be a new machine at east and would replace the 4th mix plus up north.
Also heard that the bowling palace (C-bus' best DDR spot) is attempting to get Extreme but it won't be until next month. **crosses fingers**

The boards for both MM's have supposedly shipped. Palace Lanes may need a new board swap due to it being a bootleg.
Cincy is also getting one next week at Eastgate mall.
They're just popping up all over the place now.

I think the button is labeled "reset," actually. I didn't know about the "standby" mode until I read the manual.
So do most of you just use the "standby" mode in lieu of the switch on the back? Do you *ever* use the switch on the back?

Jeff is correct in that there is a button on the front of the PS2, right side, top. We've always considered this the "reset" button though.
If you just want to save your game, stepping on the mat in the lower left corner takes you out...saves...and then takes you back to the menu for choosing the DDR game you wish to play.
I assume you also know that if you wish to "fail" out of a game, you can step on start and select at the same time.

It's like an Sony component in my rack. It's not a "sleep" mode, it's a soft power switch, similar to that of virtually every computer. There's still power to the power supply, you're just not using it. I thought the button had the universal 0/1 logo on it.
No, I never use the switch on the back.
