DDR bug has hit hard

Chris, thanks for the info. I don't think I ever looked for Paranoia Survivor on my third song.

MillenniumRider - DDRMAX2 is listed as a May release on Konami's Website. No other information though.

EDIT: Oops. I was wrong - release date is Fall 2003, not May. I suck.

I'll be coming to the Bowling Palace in Columbus tomorrow night to try out Extreme. I anticipate trying Bag on 3x or so two or three times, then maybe trying it 1.5, then 1x.

Den: What is your opinion on Saint Goes Marching Heavy? Did you try it? If it's the same one that's on 4th mix, it's actually a pretty challenging cata with a lot of turns.

Natalie: I only tried "Saint" on standard, but I saw a guy do it on heavy, and yes there were a lot of turns. I think I could have handled it though.

What time will you be around tomorrow? It's possible I might be there too.

On a side note:

One of my favorite bands, The Starting Line, features a DDR machine in their music video of Best of Me. If you're interested, it can be found on KaZaa and other download programs. :)

If I were an artichoke, I'd give you my heart.

I went to a local Bowling place to play their 3rd Mix today, there was no sound. You had to put your ear right up to the speaker just to hear some faint music. No fun.

"I took the highway to the danger zone"

I'll tell ya what's not fun - DDR machine in a fairly large, cold, arcade area of an ice rink. Then taking the pad, and having one of the feet or something broken, so if you step it hits the ground and makes a fairly loud noise. Then you take large guys, no offense, and have them play DDR. Finally, you take those large guys on the tippy-pad in the large cold arcade area, and have them stomp. Hard.

Try to listen to the music then...

Wow, the MAX2 7th Mix machine that I frequent is getting extremely cheap, now only .50 for 4 songs! WOOHOO!!!!

Well ATM I'm not exactly 100% sure I'm gonna come. It's pretty late, and we're supposed to go around 1. If I do go it won't be until about 10 pm though.

Ok, I've been playing a lot of this Flash Flash Revolution and I wanted to hear other people's high scores. My personal favorite song is Funk #3 (Too Tight) and my high score is 311,235 with a Max Combo of 220 or something like that. What are your guys' personal high scores on any song in FFR?

http://www.ddrmaniax.net/dwi/ Quit playing flash flash because it's crap. And play the actual game with this sim. You can download basically any song that is on a ddr mix and be able to play with your keyboard or if you have a psx to usb conversion cable you can hook up a dance pad.

Well, I got lucky and I got to play 2 machines that night. The Boomers near me has a MAX2 and a USA both in very very nice condition. Supprized my self by not failing "Burnin the Floor" 1.5x on heavy.

Looks like its gonna run like crap on my computer but I'll give it a shot.

There are other sims that will run on slower machines such as delight delight reduplication but it takes a while to configure. And the files for it are less in demand so they arent as easy to get. It's also a beat mania simulator.

Hmm. I really have nothing relevant to add to the discussion right now, but I just want to keep this topic on the first page. ;)

Lessee - what to talk about. Oh, I'm totally into Deep In You, Candy and Sana Morette Ne Ente right now. And I just got Spin the Disc so that's cool. Um... I got to the 8th song of the "Variety" Oni on my first try last night, but it's Paranoia Evolution Heavy so it crushed me.

Hey Natalie, did you make it to the bowling palace Saturday? I didn't. What did you think? I'll probably be there this Saturday morning (less crowded during the day).

In the song wwwblondegirl is the girl singing english in the choruses and japanese in the verses? It's so high pitched and fast I can't tell.

Colonel - Haven't played that song enough to know, but that's how "Breakdown" is. So probably.

I'm movin' on up. I can play many of the 3-4 footers on standard easily now (don't laugh, remember, I'm an old fart). AND I finally aced Sana Morette Ne Ente on standard (I love that song).

Honestly, though, how the heck do you master those fast 1/8 and 1/16 steps and turns? I just can't process that quickly.

On a more interesting note, my son was playing Doubles over the weekend. Single player across two pads. I didn't know that option existed.

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

Sana Morette and My Summer Love - these two songs got my wife into DDR for real. She loves 'em. Now, finally, she actually plays with me.

I don't know about most people, but I think my progression was faster than most because of my somewhat extensive musical background and extreme familiarity with video games. That's my hypothesis anyway.

I hate doubles. Not only do I suck at it, but it's just no fun, with all the running back and forth.
