Come to think of it, I have standby lights on my Sony DVD changer and equalizer, too, so I guess I might as well leave my PS2 on standby.
But I'm 90% sure that the 0/1 logo is on the back switch and that the front switch says "reset."

The button says reset on it, the 0/1 is on the back. I always use the back switch. Never occured to me that it was in standby mode. But all my JVC components have standby red lights as well.
Oh well, I will still continue shutting the power off on the back.....after iIshut it down on the front.

BTW, Den. I haven't read through every post recently, but my little birdie told me Palace Lanes has DDREX in. 50 cents for 3 songs, but I'd call them first to confirm.

I think the button is labeled "reset," actually. I didn't know about the "standby" mode until I read the manual.
So do most of you just use the "standby" mode in lieu of the switch on the back? Do you *ever* use the switch on the back?

I always use the switch on the front, and never turn the one off in the back; it's just easier to get to.

The button on the front panel does have the 1-in-0 power logo, as I suspected.

Yes, the rumor is true. We have the newest upgrade, extreme 8, I believe it is called. It was just upgraded this week.

Mine doesn't Jeff, it simply says reset above a black button. I'll take a pic of it. Perhaps the early PS2's were different in this regard or I just got an unlabeled button?
It just as easy for me to use the switch in the back considering where my PS2 sits.

Have you seen the new DDR machines that are handicapped-accessible...
Are you kidding me?! That's insane. How'd they pull it off?
I've got a question... Which pad is the best? Not the cheapest or most expensive, but the one that lasts the longest, and it best quality.

Look in the Photoshop Phriday thread. It's stupid.
If I was in a wheelchair, I'd be playing Beatmania or Guitar Freaks.
Abrupt subject change: Has anyone noticed how "My Summer Love" sounds exactly like that old Ace of Base song "The Sign"?

I never drew that comparison before. Thanks for ruining a song I didn't hate previously. :o/

Crap, nice job. That song (in the standard and heavy) is a good training song because it has a ton of arrows, but slow enough to read.

my friend who purchases his PS2 the day it pretty much came out doesnt have it eithier. There are about 7 different models of the PS2 in the US. His is is a Version 1 PS2.
I just searched Yahoo and searched for PS2 versions and found this site: http://www.modchipshop.com/ps2/v5v6v7.htm
it actually tells you how to identify which version of the ps2 you have. (ive got the version 7 since i just purchased my PS2 in October) The only thing that ive noticed different on the versions 1's & 2's is the front switch, and also that they dont seem to play silver bottom PS2 games well (ie. pink line at top of screen, and run choppy at times)

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead
alittle DDR update for those in Upstate, NY.
The DDR 5th Mix located in the Cyberstation arcade across from the food court is on its way out! The DDR 7th Mix machine which is currently located downstairs in the Hoyt's Cinema arcade will be replacing the 5th Mix upstairs, to make room for the DDR Extreme machine.
The DDR MAX2 machine will also be staying downstairs. I was told by the Cyberstation employee that we can expect to see these changes in early February.
