My reasons as why there are two supports on the top:
1) The support that is jutting out is for the track that way you feel you are away from the tower and free.
2)The support directly connected to the top flangy doohicky thingy (technical term) is for the stairs.
Why we have stairs that go next to the top hat I don't know but there is a picture of them here.

So pulling together some thoughts from previous threads, does this mean the announcement will be soon if the top track does goes in today? I mean at this point, anyone that knows even a little about this ride and some physics can figure out just about everything but the name (I think the 416'-408'-117mph was the one that hit the nail on the head) so they may as well just tell the world the name and let the media and GP oogle over it for a few months!

What I wouldn't give to 15 again and get that excited over a piece of track. :)
Then again, the ritalin would've probably kicked in by now.

Is anybody nearby CP and taken a look at the height of the new "thrill ride" now that the tower and track is near complete? I know there was a lot of talk about the track going up higher than the tower. But now with the tophat being finished we can all see that isn't happening. On the webcams the new structure does look big, don't get me wrong, but can anyone verify that it is even near 400ft tall? You can't really tell from the webcams.
