Topping off at CP!

I just looked at the park cam, and it looks to me as if our newest little toy is getting topped off! It looks as if the crest of the tophat is going into place! Anxious to see how much else they got done on that today!

And still no announcement. I thought it would come before they topped her off! Hmmmm.. Whats the deal? Any Ideas why the wait?

It does appear to be topped off. As for the announcement, I believe that they are waiting for PKI to announce what they are doing between Beast and TR:TR. They had some cleared land as well as some stakes in the ground in November but I just figured they were getting a Mack mouse with the drop to start the ride like PCW's Fly. Maybe it is something bigger.

Anyway, the buzz at the NORTHcoast christmas party for northern ohio ace on saturday was that CP was waiting for PKI to announce and that not to expect any word until March.

uhh...I don't know if the cams I'm looking at are different than the ones you're looking at, but the track is not at the top yet.

Do any of you know how to build a sundial out of a pen and a donut?
uh oh, sounds like someone has a case of the mondays.

Well, CP will be waiting forever for PKI to announce anything else. PKI has already announce all their new attractions for next year. Sorry to burst the bubble, but they will not be adding anything behind TR:TR. Granted, there is a clearing behind the ride building, but that's the former land area covered by Keelboat Canal.

I really don't think that we need to wait for an announcement from CP about their new coaster. I think it's pretty obvious what's going on. ;)

The Tower, maybe, but the track has a long way to go up yet!

Yeah, if you look at the third cam (bottom) you can see that it just looks like the tower may be topping off. The track isn't even close.

I don't see why CP would be waiting on PKI to announce anything. Even if PKI is putting in a skyride, then that and the other two attractions wouldn't come close to what CP's new ride is.

I still think they will announce it right about the time the track is topped off.

It's been CP's plan all along to announce after the ride is topped off.

Just because Xcelerator's track goes far above the last support tower does not mean that this will also. CP's tower that supports the ride is a completely different design from KBF's as well. Knott's is 2 individual towers that start in where the track turns upwards, COp's is one latge tower that is triangular and all behind the top hat.

I would not be surprised if the track tops out at the same height as the tower. Besides, we have not seen even a concept drawing of the finished project will look like.

Ummm...the top support looks like something I've seen before...

That something being any Premier Tophat...meaning inverted at the top. Look at the way the track is going, and look at that support. Looks to me like the track will be below it.

The top hat is not inverted. That particular question was aswered long ago when we caught our first glimpse at the top hat track sections. The pieces feature mounting plates on the underside of the curve.

Unless there's more than what we think. Maybe those so-called "top-hat pieces" are really for a bunny hill, or should I say, "rabbit" hill. And there is more track than we think...

or maybe not.

Anyway, how far off the tower are we thinking the track will go?

I am not the real Chris Sawyer...Or am I?...No.

On the camera, there appears to be a piece jutting out from the top of the tower. I'm guessing this will connect to the track at the climax of the top hat. The visilibilty is kind of bad though, it might just be part of the crane. One other thing that not many people have mentioned is the rest of the ride. I haven't compared the actual space usage so far compared to the map of how much land the ride will take up, but I'm guessing that there will be more than just a take off, TH, then back. Who knows what will happen. The train has not arrived, so no one knows how much mobility it'll have. No one, that is, except for CP executives :)

The track will go no farther than the top of the appex on the tower. For I believe this is the top most piece.

I dunno what you're smokin, but the tower is definatly *not* topped off or close.

It would be more correct to say that the three main vertical supports have finally converged, rather than topped off. The highest point of the ride involves topping off, and that will be a section of track.

The three supports are not even touching.

Are you sure they are not touching? They look like it to me.

I think this is only the 1st (and shortest) of three towers. In fact, I heard that they are planning to relocate the Eiffel tower for the tallest part. And forget about a pansy first-aid station like the Crystal Beach Cyclone, they'll have a full-on reconstructive surgery center at the exit.
