Three evenly spaced footers can very well be for a flat ride. As for the comment that was made about having more than two flat rides in an area, well there was a time when there was four and five BIG spectaculars in an area at Cedar Point. Before the Corkscrew and Gemini the flat rides outnumbered the coasters at least six to one. Personelly, I think that CP needs more iron to balence out the high rides. Believe it or not, not everybody rides coasters.
So the coasters are only outnumbered 3 1/2 to 1. Oh no!

Think they'll let me drive the Zamboni machine?
How could the ride be a Sling Shot? The footers have round bolts/connecters on them. The slingshots are triangular structures, not to mention the fact that they are double the size of those CP footers at the base. Just look at the new one in Old Town, in Florida.

Those footers in the Dogdem I area are nothing like the footers of PKI's SlingShot. They aren't even close enough to even be able to say that those footers could be a slingshot. SlingShot's footers are a large pad of concrete with three connections to the triagular support. Here's a picture:

The only way that the footers at Cedar Point would be for a SlingShot is if they used hollow cylinder supports for the towers, but with the way they are positioned diagonally in the air, that would be a lot of weight on that footer, and they don't want another VertiGo debacle. The footers in the Dogdems area don't spread the weight out like a large pad would.
There isn't just construction in that area. Now, there is a cleared path on Millennium's Island that is in the shape of a bend or a turn. So, I'm wondering if Cedar Point doesn't surprise us with another large-scale ride. Whether it be another Sky Ride or a coaster. People say that they don't put two major attractions in back to back, but even though there isn't a ride put in, they still put in a large amount of money. So it's the same thing!

It could be many things. However I didn't think flat rides usually required footers. From what I see at Six Flags Great Adventure, flat rides are just set into a lot of poured cement. But I do think that a TA2K is a possibility. I have never been to Cedar Point so I cannot accurately guess how large or small the area is.

The fact that it has 3 footers has been making me think for a while. I was hoping a Top Spin (large or small) would be cool, but the 3rd footer...

Yeah, I can see to lauched coasters in a row. They built 14 chain lifts in a row. They were different types I know, but so would these two lauched coasters. It's not like they'd be building a double-twisting impulse and then a single-twisting impulse. They'd be building an impulse then a rocket coaster with a faster launch and it's full circuit.
