What's CP building right now by Magnum?

Why isn't this thread closed yet?

Why would it be closed? Did you want someone to start a new topic on something that is still open?...It's open with good reason

Welcome "aboard" Wicked Twister. Please keep your hands and arms inside the midway at all times.

You and me both Michael. :)

I wonder when CP was actually thinking of adding WT. I'd wager it definitely WASN'T two years ago like most of their coaster additions.

It tastes like burning.

I think it's going to be a giant peep statue!

I agree...I remember a higher up from CP saying that they rode it, they liked it, and they wanted it, in regards to the impulse at SFWoA. This would have been in 2000, and they couldn't have started planning on adding it until after the spring of that year. Construction started in fall of 2001, so they had a 1 1/2 year window, and not the 2 year plan.

Because it's no different from the other 2003 addition threads that are closed in a heartbeat. 3 footers don't 100% signify a new coaster or ride, but thats the only supposed reason this thread remains open.

Because leaving it open keeps all the people who want to speculate about what is coming to CP in one thread as oppose to closing it where you will immediately get 4 or 5 more posted stating basically the same thing. This way you just continue to close the others and let this one go. It's a means to controlling pollution. lol

BrandonR, if you haven't picked up on any hints dropped by Jeff that it will in fact be a coaster then I don't know what to tell you. They may be more subtle here than over at GTTP, but there have been several big hints dropped...like 3 today.

I have a crazy feeling that this will be the year of the new Intamin woodie. I don't know any details, but some things people were discussing on gttp lead me to feel that wood is coming to Sandusky.

I'd actually rather see a wood go into CP in the next couple years than a launch coaster. Something about Xcelerator strikes me as souless. I prefer the coasters with lift hills, and it seems that launch coasters are now the blossoming trend in the business. There's something unattractive about plopping down a wad of greenbacks to throw in some trendy ride that is devoid of any charm that the other rides posess. I'd be really disappointed if they put a launch coaster in this year, especially if it's 400+ feet. That seems to ruin the little accomplishments that MF managed to grab two years ago. I guess it bothers me because its like I'm recieving the mentality of "Yeah, that's really cool...now screw it, what's next?" I think that if they put a ride like Xcelerator in, than Cedar Point is taking one step forward in fun, but two steps backwards towards the obscurity and souless business tactics that are so accustomed to Six Flags.

They've got 14 coasters with lift hills, how many more do you want? Plus with a Rocket Coaster you still get the drop.
