Popular coasters that you just didn't "get"

Mine was (insert coaster name here next year). Don't know what CP was thinking getting a coaster like this for 2003. :)

OK, for real. I didn't really care for Son of Beast and Face Off. But thats me!

Deja Vu. Just plain didn't like it. What can I say...we all have different tastes.

Oh My God!!!!!!!! Somebody else who thinks Magnum does not completely suck! Thank you so much CPgenious. I just don't understand what all the Magnum bashing is about. I mean, it was rated #1 steel for 11 years straight for some reason...
On some coasters I have to ride them at least 2 or 3 times before I love them. Usually they aren't that good to me the first time. Nitro wasn't that great the first time but after the 3rd time, I wanted to ride it forever. Same with Batman: The Dark Knight. I didn't think it was good at all but after 4 rides in one day I broke the ride down bit by bit and now the ride is awesome. I'm just saying that after a few rides you really see what all the hype is about.

Plain and simple this has turned into a my coaster is better then yours thread. I think alot of it has to do with only taking one ride ona coaster. Heck I am guilty of this too.

It really takes a personal relationship with a coaster to understand its off days and on days and truly see it for what it is. To understand it's wants and needs and logings, how it wants to be caressed and .......

MAGGIE I LOVE YOU!!! ;)

OK Now that I am done with that line of Bull on with the disscussion ;)

The Beast and Night, They go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly

Raging Bull didnt used to suck. In fact all of 2000 I loved it. Last year, it was destroyed. I don't "get" the point of the trims... same wear on the track and wheels, but honestly i'd rather see the Bull leave us a few years earlier than continue sitting on a ride that is more comfortable (and forceless) than my couch.

At least the couch reclines.... you can pull some massive G's there.

Generally, a lot of people like Magnum and MF, but this is a dislike thread, so people that don't dislike them, don't even click on the thread. That's why it took me a while to click this...I didn't have any qualms with any rides.

At GTTP this thread wouldn't stand...:)

LocoBazooka--Sevendust, Nonpoint, Stereo Vent, Mushroomhead
Korn Tour (With no name)--Korn, Puddle of Mudd, Deadsy

I really didn't "GET" SOB. What was all that hype about? I followed its construction on the net, and drooled at the thought of it's huge drop, helices and loop. When I got to PKI it was the first ride of the day. I rode it once and never since. It has been the only coaster that I wanted to get off of after it was too late.

I may someday have the oppertunity to go back to PKI and try SOB again. I have read that it has become a lot smoother. Maybe I will "GET" it on my next visit

For the record, I can't think of any other coaster that I didn't "GET". .

By the way, I "GET' Magnium. I LOVE it and do not understand how anyone could dislike it. I will admit that it sometimes is not the smoothest ride in the world, but to me it is still nearly flawless.

,,,And MF is my #1 steel coaster. Perfect for the kind of ride it is.

-KoRn is the Millennium Force of ROCK-

Superman: Krypton Coaster, it is really as simple as that. The whole floorless craze, I don't understand. I felt like I was in just a recliner, being flipped over 6 times. Well, until the corkscrews, those on S:KC aren't aging too well, pretty rough in my eyes.

Having ridden over 300 coasters and being the master of disappointment, I have several coasters that I found disappointing, although I don't dislike any of them, they just didn't do for me what I expected them to!

Raptor - 2 1/2 hour line for a totally boring back seat ride. Fortunately, I got several great rides in the front seat the following year, so it redeemed itself.

Talon - having ridden nearly all of the B&M inverts in North America, I fail to see why people rave about this one.

Steel Force - the 4th best steel coaster in the world? Puhlease! Hopefully this thing will be eradicated from the 2002 Golden Ticket Awards

Boulderdash - very smooth, fast and great terrain, but I got zero airtime, and was told it was an airtime machine! I did ride first thing in the morning, and I know many CCI's get better later in the day.

Montu - great layout, but the brakes were way too harsh and made the ride seem very slow.

And just so people don't think that I don't like anything, several rides have surpassed my expectations, most notably Phoenix, Legend, S:ROS, Viper (SFGAm), and Cornball.

don't believe the hype - 'X' !!
Roar (SFMW) hands down.

Why does Riddler's line move so slow?
It's sponsored by AOL. ;)

Montu ... rode it twice two years ago and even can't remember anything. So it must have been the ride i didn't get into.

Oooops... forgot one...

BatWing: It is unique. However, once the novelty wears off, its just a lack luster coaster.

Kind of hard to take a post as objective if a park or coaster name is part of the "user name"

My first ride on Raven at Holiday World was disappointing. But it REALLY came alive at night. Phantom's Revenge was too short (I still like it though) and Villain at SFWoA is my vote for the biggest letdown. It was just rough with no airtime. I'll take the little woodie across the park any day.

There is a difference between not "getting" a coaster and hating a coaster. To use the four I mentioned as an example [Nitro, Millie, Timbers, and Beast] they are all fun rides that I enjoy but just not the kinds of experiencesd I rank highly. That doesn't mean I hate them. Unfortunately many in this thread have turned it into a hate-fest.

Most of the coasters at Cedar Point disappointed me. They wherent worth the long ass waits. The only coaster i found worth its wait was Raptor. But that was back in 96 when it was new. Things might have changed since theyve added 4 coasters since ive been there.

'moosh, to illustrate your point, I certainly don't HATE any of the stateside B&M hypers (RB, AC, Nitro, in order of preference)....Nitro was clearly the best of the three, but none of them "got me".....

Cornball, Phoenix, SFGAm's Viper, S:RoS.....those "got me"...:)
