Michigan's Adventure Future Plans

I would even settle for the used Shockwave from SFgAM!

Just a quick question... does anyone know if the season pass prices are going up next year? They're offering a discounted price of $80 on their website (from $90 regular price last year), but charge $8 to send it if you don't stop by before the end of October :(.

So either I get to spend $80 plus $10 on gas to go buy one now, spend $88 to have it sent, or $90 and just get it next year?

It's unlikely to go down. If you plan to earn $2 on that $88 between now and then, you might consider holding off. Otherwise, just have 'em mail it.

It's interesting to note that you could instead buy a season pass from Cedar Point for $85, with a mailing fee of $3, coincidentally totalling $88. ;)

Well don't know about the future but the Falling Star has not been moved an inch yet. Just thought I would let you all know as I drove by the park today.
i can see MIA keeping falling star for another year untill they have something to replca it with. THe ride is a maintnence nightmare and will be removed however i can see them holding back a year or two untill they get something to takes its place, I mean they dont just want a big empty lot. right in the middle of the dessert section of the park. And if anybody has a chance to drive by the park try and look for cinstruction for the swan boats by loggers run, construction on the swan boats started on clossing day.
MA should benchmark HW. HW only has two wood coasters and is basically a family park. What would MA have to do to be more like HW. I'm asking because I've never been to HW. It just seems that enthuiast really like the park.

Yep folks, I'm leaking. This is why you can NEVER trust me with anything. A VERY reliable source at Michigan's Adventure kindly let leak as to future plans at the park. Here's the basics:

->2004 WILL bring a steel coaster. They wouldn't say what kind, my guess is an Intamin rocket...

->Hotel/Campground as we know is in the works. This is a high point for the park right now, as they want people to stay for more than one day.

->Night hours are another thing the park is looking into. We already know this.

->Land, land, land, land, and more land! The park is attempting to buy land around the park to make the park into it's ultimate goal...

(This next part is from a high official) the park's ultimate goal is to purchase a lot of land and build up the park a LOT! Their model is................. guess who........ CEDAR POINT. I know, I know, you're telling me it'll never be as big as CP, but they say it will. And I trust this person more than I trust myself, so I know it's true. A high official even told this person

Michigan's Adventure is the Cedar Point of tomorrow.

Any questions?

Guess who's back... MIA JON!

I have a question .Jon what happen to these plans and what's your reliable source saying almost five months later/

Nothing of what Jon has said has come true or reported in any media.

Yet.

Or he is full of ****.

Well, I agree this doesn't look likely at this point.

->Hotel/Campground as we know is in the works. This is a high point for the park right now, as they want people to stay for more than one day.

Judging from the articles about sewer and water, I think this is still on the way. Notice he didn't say this was for 2004.

->Night hours are another thing the park is looking into. We already know this.

See their new schedule?

Well, we wouldn't necessarily see much publicity over this; they do have a lot of land, but it wouldn't suprise me if much of their capital goes towards this until they are sure they have enough to be unconstrained.

Cut him some slack guys :) How many other predictions have we seen throughout this thread?

CF is not buying any land around MA. The park was sold with about 250 acres and that is plenty for them. Although part of that is used for sewage lagoons (which would go away if they could hook into city sewer) and retention ponds. There is mainly one person who owns all the land around the park and right now he has no interest in selling.

CP 365 acres
MA 250 acres
WF 235 acres
DP 200 acres
Knotts 160 acres
VF 125 acres

CF is good at using all of their land to the fullest. I highly doubt they will need to purchase any more around MA.

How much land has been used so far?

WHAT no coaster to be built in Ohio in 04? Why are we being punished! What next? No more Rollercoaster Tycoon expansion packs.

It looks like they have developed about 15 acres to me. There is a ton of room. No need to buy more land. Just filling in the sewage retention ponds will create a ton of room.

Timber takes at least 5 acres alone, The water park about 10, kiddie area about 5, the lake easily 8, Timger midway 8 to 10, and the parking lot maybe 20. That's my guess.

If this were Rollercoaster Tycoon: First year I'd add A Johnny Rocket's, TGIF's, and a campground. 05 Land of Giants between Timbers and the Chute the Chutes, 06 4D It would set MA apart from all amusement Parks, 07 Camp snoopy and hotel. 08 Hyper Superman clone SFNE.09 last year (Five year plan) New themed area think BGW England and add a Launched watercoaster.

Coaster Bob - just look at the bottom of the navigation on left side.

Swan boats appear to be confirmed as well; asked about it while processing my season pass yesterday. When I asked if they are the ones from Dorney (doesn't Dorney have some at the bottom of Hercules?), she said they're from Cedar Point (??).

She claimed to have no idea about a laser show. Not sure if this really provides evidence either way :).

No significant construction going on from what I could see from the parking lot.
