Michigan's Adventure Future Plans

But the remaining leftover $6 million we may see some pretty decent improvements. Maybe management has not decided what to spend it on at their park. Remember, they are owned by CF, but all of the parks have their own GM's that make the call where they feel the money should be spent.

A total of approximately $6 million will be invested in various new attractions and upgrades at the Partnership’s other parks.

MrScott

timberguy you may be right but Cedar Fair has the final say in anything that goes on at MIA
Yeah, and CF approved Cabanas at 50 bucks a pop. Your cost, not theirs.

We'll be lucky to see a major coaster in Michigan within a decade, based on the local governments refusal to put in water/sewer.

This is a very frustrating thing to watch.

MrScott

Michigans adventure already got aproval for the sewer sytem in about mid august. The local government would probably like nothing more than for MIA to grow and become great because its the areas largest atraction other thatn Lake Michigan
Swans and cababana's what more could we ask for? Oh well. Hey MA Jon, what did you hear for 05?

God is this thread still here? You guys will get $2mill at most because you are one of three parks splitting $6million. (VF and DP are the other two). Unfortunately you are the low man on that totem pole, so if you get $2million you will be lucky. Just be happy with a few hand-me-down rides and perhaps a new side walk and cross your fingers that you might get your S&S towers in 05.

When they show that past investments can be counted upon to increase attendance and spending as projected?

That remaining $6 million is to be spent on all remaining properties (Dorney, Valleyfair & Michigan's Adventure), so that doesn't leave much. Unless, of course, CF enters the used ride market.

How about a drinking fountain? (I'd take a look to see if this wasn't already said in this thread, but I don't have an hour.) ;)

A non-ride year is typically about $1 million in CF-speak. VF's Mad Mouse season was about $3 million (but that was 1999) so you could reasonably expect at least 1-2 new spin-and-spues to fit in that remaining budget.

I suppose a park could sneak in a part of their next seasons budget. Like Knott's plans to do with the Rollercoaster project for late 04. Knotts is using an 04 /05 budget.

I don't think so. The fiscal year ends after the seasonal parks close, if I remember my CF fiscal calendar correctly.

Mr Nobel, you do.

MrScott

I think the park should just get M: TR.;)

There's your newbie joke.
Nope, they couldn't afford to get a M:TR, besides I heard that he has a HIGH maintenance cost ;) ;) ;)

Probably something that starts with an "M" and ends with "The Ride"... ;)
