1) Rob posts "CP sucks because..." thread.
2) A few people jump on him quickly.
3) Rob points to "the obvious CP fanboy bias."
4) Thread goes off on it's own momentum for three pages in less than one day.
Yep. Just another day in CoasterBuzz.
Interestingly, they no longer make that claim. :)
That whole paragraph is bunk. The ONLY people who are claiming that this or that park sucks because they only have 10 coasters or nothing over 200ft. tall are coaster enthusiasses and they make up about .000000001% of the total park attendants. I think PKI has proven that the GP doesn't give a rat's @ss about records.
Obviously their marketing is working seeing how a small town in Ohio is able to outdraw every year: Chicago/Milwaukee, Los Angelas, New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio....
Perhaps their marketing has turned Cedar Point into a Destination Park.
People like records. We're friggin' American.
Comingoutofyeeeehaaaaa!

Remember those posters that said, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life?" Well, that's true for every day but one - the day you die.
You are all bashing each other over numbers that only are such, numbers. Great Adventure has a great Safari and Hurrican Harbor. Cedar Point is on the lake and has incredible coasters. Morey's is on a great Boardwalk, is oceanfront, and has atmosphere. All bring that something to the table that all of you should seek out and visit.
By the way, ACE was invited to Moreys for ERT on AtmosFear, with ERT time added to the Great NorEaster and the Great White, and lunch in Jumbos Seafood on the Boardwalk. plus a evening of 3 piers of rides for only $45. What a bargain. You guys should all meet there, kiss and make up. Even you Jeff. I owe you some beers anyway. *** Edited 5/11/2005 5:40:43 PM UTC by Agent Johnson***

I think it was Gonch that couldn't understand the enthusiast POV of having to numeralize everything, staticize (a word?) everthing, etc.
Yes, it was.
And I still don't. :)
It's not a matter of acceptance, it's a matter of most people really not caring very much. We're not fighting cancer or going for world peace here. Your argument flirts with the ridiculousness of what constitutes a bona fide inversion.

Exactly my point. I don't understand why it's so hard for some people to accept the fact that Cedar Point is wrong from time to time.
Most people don't care.

All in fun, folks...
The entire point of advertisements in general is to manipulate you into spending money on something. Is it ethical for a company to knowingly put false information in their ads? Sure, most people don't care if a certain park has the most rides in the world but if you experience their ads enough, you'll start to believe it.
How many people would, if given the choice, buy Bayer over an in-house generic brand of aspirin? Though, by law both products are required to have the exact same ingrediants.
Whether you are a fanboy or not is irrelevant to the point being made: companies SHOULD NOT use false information in their marketing campaign no matter how insignificant the factoid is.
If some of you think that is a technicality because the piers are close together than so be it. But the fact is that the piers are not connected together so CP's claim is true.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks, than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!
Oh, and I thougth I'd just end the debate now, Guinness' website has Great Adventure ahaed of CP. GA has a total of 71 permanent mechanical rides. So lets end this sillyness now :) *** Edited 5/12/2005 4:48:27 AM UTC by ToTfreak***
