Kings Island Fast Lane

Hehe, the number of tickets for Voyage determines seat position and if the trims are on or off.

Just put a cashier at the entrance to the super special line. (Gonch is going to love this next part...) The price could even change for front-of-the-line access depending on how busy the ride is at any given time. (And I think a vein just popped in my forehead while typing that) lol

It'd probably be pretty easy.. walk up the Fast Pass lane (it'd be a requirement I'm sure), tell the ride op you want front seat. They scan the bar code on your device, and it automatically charges the transaction on your FP account. When you turn the device in at the end of the day, all the ride charges are then applied to your credit card.

LK.. as I was typing my answer, I had visions of your head spinning around like Linda Blair in the Exorcist.. :)

What a coincidence, Dodge. That is exactly what happened. lol

Did they add to the number of attractions this is available for? Wasn't it 10 to begin with? It's 13 now.

What started as 10 rides for 7 hours is now 13 rides all day.

Plus, the pricing changed. Now the more you buy the lower the price. Family of four gets them for $35 each.

The value just keeps getting better.

The discount isn't available on Saturday, so it seems like they are starting to lean more toward a tiered pricing model based on how crowded the park is which I approve of.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

At $140 for a family of 4 that is not value - that is super value.

I'm going to KI in a few weeks, the day before Labor Day, and I was disappointed to find that it was not being offered. Yes, I was going to purchase it.

Lord Gonchar's avatar

Yeah, I wonder why that is?

Because it is the only theme park trip I have been able to take this year so far, due to unemployment, and because now that I have a job, I can afford it, and I still don't want anyone else cutting in front of me while I am there. I'm looking out for #1 this time.

:)

I do feel sorry for the fools who can't afford to cut in front of everyone else like I can.

No. I meant I wonder why it's not available that day.

:)

It seems like they're offering it on the days you don't really need it and not offering it when it would be the most useful. Interesting...

They have been adding more to Fast Lane. This time Congo Falls.
At this point, I think they are just trying to add perceived value to the Fast Lane. Very few of the ride that being added now ever have more then a 1 cycle wait. I guess it sounds better that you can cut the line on 2 rides then it does on 10, but in reality you would only save time on 6 of them.

The new rides appear to be Congo Falls, Dodgems, and Delirium. I don't remember Adventure Express always being on there. Was it? Also in my photo TR I showed that they have signs for FastLane at Viking Fury as well. Kind of interesting to see how they are testing this out. They put it on Dodgems before Flight Deck? or Invertigo?

EDIT: I was wrong, Delirium has always been on the list. AE is the recent addition.

Yes...ish.

Labour Day I would think is a great exception to the rule. It'll likely be so busy that everyone would want it to avoid long lines everywhere. If that happens, then buying it still results in long lines, and the overall value/benefit for the purchaser feels less

Whereas, a moderately busy days makes purchasers happy and non-purchasers otherwise neutral. The perception of earning something remains. Aka, good business

Oh... (lol)

I am so used to this being "my controversy" that I misinterpreted what you were asking.

I would think they'd up the price for the expected huge crowds that holiday weekends bring. There has to be a price point where not too many people will purchase it and benefit while not affecting the stand-by lines significantly, and the park still profits from the sales.

ApolloAndy's avatar

Or alternatively, you could just up the gate on a holiday. ;) (kind of)

Or both! Or Fahrenheit.
