Kings Island Fast Lane

This is pretty awesome. On my two visits in '97 and 2000, I bought tickets for two consecutive days to make sure I was able to take in the whole park. If I were still in my 20s (and able to power-ride coaster after coaster), it's possible the FP system would eliminate the need to go back a second day. Realistically, if I were to take my family there, I'd still most likely book two days...and would still be tempted to take advantage of this system to avoid having to wait with all the smelly losers.

Even as a dozen-times-a-year visitor, I might be tempted to pay for Fast Lane on those days when a friend insists the ONLY day they can go is a Saturday in July or October. The fact that I have a season pass and pay for it at the end of the previous season -- which makes all my visits "feel" like they're free -- makes me even more willing to shell out the cash. Maybe. Depending how it's priced.

If they make Fast Lane available for the various haunts during HW, I might actually see one of them! :)

I would be suprised if they do it for the haunts. They have a scaled down version of the VIP available during Halloweekends for $75 per person. You get escorted up the exit of all the major haunts. If the Fast Lane did get used for Halloweekends, I would think that would go away. They already said they expect the requests for the standard VIP tour to drop when they implement Fast Lane.

Brandon- You don't go on Friday nights or Sundays?

Well not really up the exit, that just wouldn't work. :) It did seem pretty popular last season though.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

We do go on Friday nights. We just never feel inclined to stand in any line for the haunts. I guess we're just not that into it. Definitely would be if haunts were included in FL, but definitely not if it were a separate $75 up-charge.

I only asked because most of them typically don't have lines beyond 9:30 or so on Fridays. Or are you saying you'd only do them as a means of getting more value out of a FL pass?

Well, my Wife isn't really into the whole "scare the crap out of me, please" thing, and I'm not really either, so standing in any line for something of that nature isn't appealing. Maybe I've just never paid close attention, but there always seems to be some sort of wait at the haunts when we're nearby, even if only a few people deep. Or maybe we're typically too focused on what is usually prime night riding during HW Fridays.

So you won't stand in line because of the "scare the crap out of me" thing but you would pay money to have the crap scared out of you? Why would you want to pay for something that you don't like?

Possibly because time is more constrained than money?

It makes sense to not want to stand in line for something that you do not like. But how does paying for something that you do not like make any sense?

Based on your statement it seems as if neither time nor money is the constraint in this case. Not wanting to do something that you do not like is the constraint.

If FOL access to haunts were included in the standard FL price, we'd probably use it on the haunts.

Carowinds had a haunt Fastlane this year for like $25. Saw quite a few using it thruout my October and September visits.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

[url][url]We all knew it was coming and I've heard it from enough people who'd know today. While there's nothing official I can link to, I can point you to this:

Fast Lane coming to Cedar Point in 2012

This should be good for a few pages of bitching now and a whole new big thread once it's official with pricing and rides and such.

And to really make my day, Rob mentioned to me earlier that there was FastPass-type thing available when he took his kids to see Santa.

It's everywhere!

I'm telling ya man, they'll be writing books about you.

With Santa it didn't really matter about fast pass because of the mall we went to. Most likely it'll be a new shopping center, a camp ground, or a vacant plot of land in the next few years if things don't change. Where else can you go on a Saturday morning and be the only ones waiting to see Santa? KD has the same problem with I-305 on Saturday mornings, but for a different reason. :)

See how I linked coasters to this?

During the Cedar Point tour, Bryan Edwards mentioned that FL will be available on something like 20 rides, so expect a wide variety.

Since I posted to facebook when he said it, I can say with certainty he said it would probably be 25 attractions.

I don't doubt you but wow that sounds like a lot. Even if all 17 coasters get it are there 8 other rides that need this? Maxair, Skyhawk, Giant Wheel, Shoot the Rapids, Snake River Falls, Thunder Canyon... I am running out of ideas. I can't get to 8.

Perhaps priority seating for shows.
