Kings Island Fast Lane

Jason Hammond's avatar

My first year I did it alone, the second with a few friends. This year a group of us booked the entire room for a night. I probably wouldn't do it alone again. So, my future participation will likely be dependent on the interest my friends have in it. The cost isn't a huge deal as I find it to be more of an entertaining experience. It's way more than a meal.

From what I've heard, the food is pretty darn good too. Not what you would typically find food wise at CP.

And let it begin

Uh, you're about 2 days late. :)

My bad :( I thought I skimmed through it all, guess I missed a post

Not worth starting a new thread, but KI has also added candy to Dinosaurs Alive.

Looks like they are gonna ride the money train until it falls off the tracks. :) Note that there are no lights on the DA path, so Dinosaurs Alive probably won't be open during Haunt.

Looks like Carowinds is going to offer Fright Lane, too [link]. The link that would take you to the purchase landing page doesn't do anything yet, though. Also, no Fast Lane, it seems, which is a shame (for me).

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!

Although Cedar Point isn't doing the Fright Lane, They are doing Zombie Tours.

ZOMBIE TOURS will be led around the park with front of the line access to the haunted houses and two outdoor scare zones. Tours will begin at Club Blood and then visit the following attractions: Happy Jack’s Toy Factory, Boeckling’s Eerie Estate, Blood on the Bayou, Eternity Infirmary and Cornstalkers. It is anticipated the tour will take 2 ½ to 3 hours to complete

KI just mentioned this on Facebook.

The replies bring up a good question. Is this candy in addition to in-park trick-or-treating that they've always had or is it now $5 to TOT at Kings Island?

EDIT - Looks like they answered the question. This appears to be in addition to the normal stuff.

Carowinds and KD have the fastlane for this years haunt for $20. Bet it gets rolled out next year.

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I noticed this year, that almost all the haunted house attractions in Ohio (non-amusement park ones) added some variation of fast pass/lane/etc to their haunted houses as well...They all range from $5 to $20 more. Catching on...

Next up will see at Walmart, "New for the Holidays 2011!! Move to the front of the line for the mere price of your SOUL!"

[url][url]We all knew it was coming and I've heard it from enough people who'd know today. While there's nothing official I can link to, I can point you to this:

Fast Lane coming to Cedar Point in 2012

This should be good for a few pages of bitching now and a whole new big thread once it's official with pricing and rides and such.

And to really make my day, Rob mentioned to me earlier that there was FastPass-type thing available when he took his kids to see Santa.

It's everywhere!

This is awesome. Now I can cut in front of all the smelly losers who can only afford to go to the park once a year. My ego expands just thinking about it. :D

I'm more of a masochist. I like standing in the regular line and feeling like a smelly loser watching the people who are better than me jump on the ride.

I won't use it simply because I'm there all the time and I have no need to. It's when I go to far away places that I may only ever be to once or twice in my life. That's when I use it. I'm not using it to marathon rides either. I'm using it so I can get on the major attractions and still have time to enjoy the rest of the park. I will be in Texas at various parks for Memorial Day weekend and if the crowds dictate it, I will get Fast Passes if they are available.

This will give the Occupy folks another place to hang out.

I'm with Jason as I will not use it at CP either. I've ridden all the major rides there at least 100 to 1000 times. Not only that, but the park has grown so stale for me in recent years I probably will not go back until another major ride is added or a flat ride of the past is brought back.

But, I use these systems at every other park that I visit that I might not go to again in the near future.

I'm sure there's a market for this kind of thing at CP, but I'm curious to see what feedback will come from the "locals". The people who go once or twice a year seem to generally complain more about the park ripping them off than the same clientele at other parks do.
