GL's Steel Venom probably also on it's way out....

I believe that Gemini still has the best capacity. I do know that the capacity for Maggie was improved this summer by making the ride cycle a few seconds shorter.
Now word is going around that Steel Venom ISN'T leaving the park and will be fixed and returned to operation for the 2007 season, having been confirmed by the park (spokesperson). If that's the case, I still don't understand the point in having it edited out from the park map, only to have to put it back on it anyway? None of it makes sense to me! And the ride is still listed on the park's website.
I'm with the group that says it's going to Dorney. The ride would fit in nicely with that lineup, especially since the capacity at Dorney wouldn't have to be high.

I say paint it an original color like black track with orange or yellow supports and ship it to Dorney. It would be nice MIA would get a new ride though.

Obviously they caved under the protests of the enthusiast community, and altered their plans for fear of our might. ;)
I think they were originally planning to move it, and changed their minds after the map editing instructions were done.

Either that, or they were planning on having it SBNO thinking it wouldn't be able to be fixed and working properly in 2007, but now they can.

Nothing says it won't leave after this season.
^^ Good point. Maybe the park wasn't expecting it to be running for the 2007 season and wanted to advertise accurately (instead of how Six Flags advertises)? I hope it's not leaving the park- I'd rather wait 5 minutes to ride GL's ride rather than an hour to ride CP's.
Since when do you have to wait an hour to ride Wicked Twister? I know since after its opening year, I haven't waited more than 15 minutes for WT. Even on really busy days.

Don't you remember the opening day rush when Wicked Twister opened in 2002? I must have waited a total of an hour for that ride... of course that was sandwiched in between some 20 rides ;)

I've never seen WT have a line greater than 45 mins, even on the busiest of days!

I'm still wondering if what Krax is saying is true? What's going on with Steel Venom? Time will tell...

I like SUE/SV!!! Take out Mind Eraser instead. Take out ThunderHawk/Serial Thriller.

Great, another of my favorites bites the dust.

I thought Wicked Twister was okay, but liked SV/SUE better. I felt like the acceleration was faster with the first shot.

Okay, then I'd rather wait 5 minutes for Steel Venom than 15 minutes for Wicked Twister... how's that? ;)

Rob,

Steel Venom has had a 5 minute wait before? Since when? Or are we counting the 5 minute stroll along the station, under the track, back up along the station, and finally into the station?

Besides the WoA days, I've never seen Steel Venom have a line. Ever.

Sorry I just have to poke fun, peace.

It had a line a big line a few times this summer.
Keep in mind that X-Flight won't be back there (not that it was a people-eater). SV just moved up a notch behind Dominator and Thunderhawk in that park as far as steel coasters go. That could mean a lot.

Keep in mind, it's a little skewed already. It's in an area of the park with increasingly fewer and fewer attractions each year, plus I imagine that even with the reduction of entry price, the park still isn't operating with the kind of crowds you'd get if you ADDED something to GL.

I imagine they'll be adding to GL again soon....but the attractions mix will get progressively wetter....and less costly to operate/maintain... ;)

So they are opening a new 'Slushi Stand'!

Yea but Wicked Twister is taller and both sides spin, so I would rather wait 15 min's for a better ride.

Taller does not meat better... a lot of people happen to like the holding break on others
The holding brake was one of the best parts of the ride and the reason I like Steel Venom better than Wicked Twister. Why is it so tough to imagine that I like something at GL better than something similar at CP? ;)

Rob, I actually was referring to the time it took to walk from the entrance of the ride to the loading platform! Like I said... five minutes!

Because Rob! The tallest and fastest means its the best. I'll take Son of Beast over Screachin' Eagle any day of the week!

Oh man... that just got me upset, it'll be five years since I experienced Ohio's best stand-up wooden coaster.
