Don't forget that GAdv. has/had two log flumes.
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
Those who are in a position to lose their jobs don't talk, those who are not, might just let something slip.
Start booking those hotels for next year people...
However, when this new rocket breaks in, and compliments their *next* ride, I'll be more than happy to book that hotel.
I know how tall it is... I also found one typo in your post as well as a grammatical error. I am sure you know all different sorts of information despite your careless attempt at trying to shame me on the internet. I wonder how many problems there were in the post before you edited it. As you can see, this is un-edited going out the way it is because I don't care if there is a mistake in what I type the first time. If you really want to know how tall the damn thing is and can't stand to "not be in the know" get a job at Six Flags so you can confirm to these wonderful people here what I already know.
Honestly, I am just trying to stir things up a little bit. In the real world it doesn't matter if the worlds tallest and fast rollercoaster is at Great Adventure or Cedar Point or if Great Adventure is getting a giant paperweight shaped like TTD. We talk here because this is a hobby that we all find fun. Lets keep it that way.

Coasterbruh wonders if people actually read their own post.............
There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!
This is going to come as an absolute shock to you, I know...but I've been made privy to some information about next year's coaster too. I've been given some numbers to crunch in my head too. Shock over. But let's think about a few things first:
a) I haven't mentioned what I've been told for two reasons: firstly, all the information I've received has been speculation; secondly, I was told these things in confidence. No matter how certain things appear, we don't know for sure yet. I'm sure someone on here knows everything exactly, but that guy is not me and it's not you (though it's probably Clint) so let's get serious. You're not the great grand CBuzz leaker. Get over yourself.
b) What exactly are you gaining by giving everybody little teases? If you've been given information from sources within SFGAdv, then you know you can't actually say anything because you'll inevitably be cut off by your sources for having loose lips. So it all boils down to the fact that you said something in order to, as you so astutely put it, "shame [us] on the internet." If this really means that much to you, then you (again, to use your own words) "should slam on the brakes, look where [you] are going in life, and rethink how important the petty things are before somebody breaks [you] in two."
T-Bird made the point of bringing up the classic adage, "Those who know don't talk, and those who talk don't know." So stop making yourself fodder for justifiable attacks because the rest of us just aren't impressed and you're making it way too easy.
Just wait until the announcement, it's not that far away, just wait a couple days / weeks. They are not going to pull a Cedar Point and announce it in January.

For whatever reason, if this does prove to top TTD, I'll be somewhat disappointed.

You guys foget how the industry works. The papers could have very well been signed before Xcelerator even opened. There IS a couple year turn-around time on these rides.
That could be true, only if the Rocket Coaster concept wasn't originally designed specifically to fit Knott's Berry Farm's request for an energy efficient catapult system that could get the vehicles to clear a 200+ hill in a very short amount of launch track. That's where Cedar Point management realized it would be the perfect ride concept to break new speed and height records. Thus, Top Thrill Dragster.
I doubt that Intamin would want to get more forceful with the brakes, so a coaster faster than TTD would need a longer brake run. This is another limitation that the length of track runs into, and another reason I'm very skeptical of this ride being a record breaker. My guess is it will be about 300' tall. *** Edited 8/13/2004 5:03:19 PM UTC by Pete***
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks, than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
