DDR bug has hit hard

Who got Draeger hooked this weekend? Oh yeah :). Mission accomplished, with flying colors.

Jeff don't even complain that there wasn't a DDR machine at Dave and Busters because I don't have a single machine within 2 hours of me! Stupid Michigan.

Dave and Buster's here in Columbus also has Pump It Up (the diagonal arrow game). It's no DDR, but for what it is, it's pretty fun.

I think the best DDR deal ever is at the Columbus Square Bowling Palace. DDRMAX2, still 50 cents for 3 songs, it's turned up loud and the place is open 24 hours. And it's 10 minutes from my house! ;)

Meanwhile up in snow country CBaby and I are up to four foot dances, Da 'Midget handles the one-foot dances just fine and Playette has learned to accept the fact that I kick her tail at DDR.

I'm just nice about it and have promised in advance never to directly compete with her.

Yes, Draeger has been properly broken in. It's a shame I missed out on the skills he was showing at Pinball Pete's.

Funny thing is, my sister played Pump-It-Up ONCE before I even got in to DDR. Now she considers DDR the cheap imitiation, and complains that "it doesn't even have a step in the middle." I tried PIU once, but I couldn't adjust after getting used to DDR. Good thing there's plenty of DDR avaialable in the other room on the PS2...

Can you say addictive? I'm finally up to the four foot songs, not bad for a lady nearing 50. But I just can't seem to process those 1/8 notes fast enough.

Draeger is a tool. He'll do anything a female asks him to.

And I love how he can drive all that way up to Michigan but not to my house for the DDR party. Double tool!

Whoa...I was in the mall in Wilmington this weekend and saw a 5th Mix, and after reading this thread and the previous DDR thread, decided to try it once to see if it was what everyone says it is....ended up playing it 8 times before I left the mall and I'm going to play this afternoon....all I want for Christmas is a PS2, DDRMAX and dance pads and I'll be happy...

Same story here...just found out they put a machine in the union at the university where I work...so my student staff and I are taking a field trip (on work time!) this Friday.

I recently saw Robert Smith (former OSU and Vikings running back) tearing it up on that machine. He's almost too quick for the machine.

Mark, you mean the DDR or PIU? btw, let me know next time you go. I've probably already seen you there, heh.

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

Hey Jeff, theres a Huge arcade about 20 minutes away from my house in Toledo called Major Magic's. Pretty much the same idea as Dave and Buster's (beer, pizza, and video games). Anyways, I was thinking it would be a great place for a shindig in the offseason. Theres 2 MAX2 machines, Dance Maniacs, Drum Maniacs, and 25 cent skee-ball. :)
Major Magics? Around here MM is (well was, they closed down recently) the equilavent to Chucky Cheeze - kids games and alcohol free. Still, skee-ball is skee-ball, and DDR is DDR :)

The Putt-Putt that's fairly close to me is like that.... a zillion screaming kids all the time. Fortunately, the DDRMAX is over in a dark corner where no one ever ventures. :)

Bite me :)

This weekend was (unfortunately) about a lot more than that, I'll have you know. But yes...I told Tobe and Kara that if there were any two DDR'ers I would pop my cherry in front of, it would be them. Somewhere along the way they got the idea that I promised a performance this weekend and so I delieved for them.

Who knew it would really be so much fun?!

Wow, some Japanese girl in the mall just conned me into playing with her and handed my ass to me, I kept having to stop in mid song because there were arrows coming out of my ears while she was a blur of motion and missed maybe 3.....unbelieveable. I gotta practice more...

I don't know how many of you know this, but there is a new DDR out. DDRMax, for the Playstation 2. It has 60+ songs, some are only in there for the US release. I work at Best Buy, so I should know!

Just thought you'd like to know for those who, well, didn't.

Yes, we're all well aware of it as you would have discovered if you read any part of the rest of the thread.

Alright, for all you people who *insist* that DDR stands for anything other than my beloved flume....the place with the MOST different DDR machines I've seen is....Boomer's, the only place to get decent coaster airtime south of gatorville. I go for the DBH of course, but you all would have to give this place credit...there was at least a half-dozen machines in a circle, back-to-back, and wall-to-wall with peeps....
