Excalibur Crew for 2002!
Good point Vallfair Fan.
If ValleyFair gets the "rumored" inverted coaster next year, I'm going to try to get there.

Well if cedarfair budget is small in 2003 ,like it is this year. cedarpoint will be the only park with a big coaster.
I'll remind you that two parks are getting coasters this year. I would imagine that Xcelerator was NOT cheap by any means.

Ok so we are looking at around $35 million as the budget for this season. With both Dorney and WOF getting $3 million, MIA getting around $5 million and VF! getting around $2million. I'm sure there was some extra money as well spent. But even with that as the budget, you could get two large coasters and the rest of the parks getting flats and general improvements

VertiGo Rides - 82 - Farewell my good friend..
Valleyfair Fan, If that was the case, then the parent company did that only because they felt that there was more ROI to get at Dorney than if they used it at VF.
Man that stinks, I feel sorry for you northerners.

SLFAKE, the season has a month already under it's belt (sorry your homepark isn't open yet)... blah blah blah
Sorry.. forgot the number one rule... NEVER say anything that could be taken in the slightest negative light about CP or Cedar Fair. Didn't mean to interupt the worship service.

Here's an interesting comparison of the CF:LP parks.
Total Rides (not including waterpark)
CP - 68
DP - 54
WOF - 42
KBF - 36
VF - 38
MIA - 35
==============
Rollercoasters
CP - 15 (2 kid's)
DP - 9 (3 kid's)
KBF - 6 (1 kid's)
VF - 6 (1 kid's)
MIA - 6 (1 kid's) "Big Dipper"
WOF - 5 (1 kid's)
==============
Total amount of children's rides
CP - 26 (ratio 13:21)
DP - 18 (ratio 9:23)
WOF - 14 (ratio 1:7)
KBF -14 (ratio 14:23)
MIA - 12 (ration 12:23)
Some of them are a little shocking aren't they.

Swoosh - doesnt' DP have three kiddie coasters? One in Camp Snoopy, and two down my Lazer?
We already know that according to KBF's Jack Falfas that the next coaster after Xcellerator comes in Jan 2004. That opens the door for other CF properties to get new coasters for 2003, and I'll place my money on either VF, MIA, and/or WoF.

Yes, Dorney Park has three kiddie coasters. Michigan's Adventure has a Chance kiddie coaster. I see that Chance refers to it as a "family coaster" but it's pretty darn small.

Oops thanks for pointing that out, I always forget that there are three kid's coasters at Dorney. Also I didn't realize the Big Dipper was considered a kid's coaster, but it does make sense. With KBF not getting a coaster next year hopefully WOF and VF, who are both overdue, will get their inverteds next year. Long shot, but hey it could happen.
