Cedar Fair 2003

Er, didn't Dorney just open Talon? A B&M inverted coaster with four inversions -- the *exact* same inversions as on Great Bear, which is no more than an hour-and-a-half to the West?

Didn't Cedar Point just open Wicked Twister, and Intamin Impulse coaster when there was one a lil' smaller 1.5hrs to the East?

Cedar Fair has done this before, it wouldn't shock me.

That was my point exactly, only the person who builds second builds their's a little bit bigger and a little bit taller.

I say B&M invert for VF sounds more Cedar Fairish. I'm goining to ride wicked twister tomorrow (5-11) and i'll see if it's woth making a clone of it. But I have been on Talon and its a fun ride and I think a custom B&M would sute any park better than an impulse.(not that impluse are not fun, but I'm not a fan of cloning rides because it lacks originality)

I never said that i believed anything about the S:TE clone. All i said is thats what I heard was going there. As for what I belive is going there. I have absolutely no clue whats going in there.

Michigan's Adventure's area between Falling Star and Dodgems would make a nice place for a Wicked Twister clone. :-)

Take it from a Michigan's Adventure fan, our park kicks butt!!!

STE is a dud. I wish it had never showed up at SFMM.

-----------------
2002 - the year of IB's LoCoSuMo!!

It was quite a waste of money (STE), and IMHO not worth arguing whether or not it was a coaster. IF it IS a coaster, then it is a poor excuse for one.

Just so everyone knows, there is another S:TE type coaster, but its not a dual track, but it does have and intamin drop tower hooked onto the side of it!

Tower of Terror in Australia

With great power, comes great responsibility-Spiderman

Which happens to be the only redeming thing about the ride. Now why hasn't SFMM done the same thing with their's?

Well it will be one month on Friday of this coming week. To think almost a month and this thread has grown to 8 pages in length, with over 300+ posts. Amazing. However I think it is time to let it fade into CBuzz history.

i know its no biggie but i did a double take... bumpercars!!!... i thought you were talking about CP...we dont go over the 15k presold limit... i dont belive they would allow it to get to 28k...

I was born and raised in CP country....they're all Dodgems if you ask me.

As for the pre-sold numbers, I was just repeating what I was told from my source. Okay, okay so my source was a Corkscrew rideop that day...not exactly the Dippin' Dot guy. I knew I should have stopped by his stall.

After riding WT I have decided that Cedar Fair should get B&M's first and mabey Impulses later. But a Wicked Twister style ride would be a great addition to any park. (back seat rules)

Well I think that the B&Ms would bring in the people a lot better, but hey I'm just a lowly Coaster Connoisseur (not to be confused with an enthusiast, whom gives the entire population of people who enjoy coasters a bad name by acting like complete idiots on Travel/Discovery Channel specials). I like to ride coasters, I don't go out of my way to be annoying like those people sure did on those shows. Disgraceful! They gave us ALL a bad rep.

B&M are good but I love arrows cuz they have the steel feel and are rough like a wooden coaster. If I wanted a smooth ride I could drive my car down a hill.

I am still betting on a very interesting flat ride (I guess you could call it that) for VertiGO's spot at KBF.

Its a Vekoma Madhouse, like Hex at Alton Towers. And of course, I would think that it would be themed to the Haunted Shack. How perfect is that? It could happen...

How about a Huss Giant "Frisbee" for that location!!!!

I wouldn't mind that, but I think the Haunted Shack sequel would be more appropriate for Ghost Town, not to mention more appreciated by those classic Knotts advocates out there...\

IMO, as cool as it would be to get a Giant Huss Ride, Ghost Town (or at least that part of Ghost Town) isn't the best place for it.

Well get the Mad House then and quit griping! :)

As for the other mysterious land prep and footers at CP, I imagine that is for a sling shot ride (not a Insane ride from S&S).
