Cedar Fair is a 'by the book' company. They standardize their ride packages acroos the company. Morgan Hypers, B&M's, Arrow Flumes and Shoot the Chutes.
Just thought I'd give a couple of corrections pertaining to ride manufactures and Valleyfair here. VF's Log Flume was created by Valley Park Inc. and VF's Shoot the Chutes is an OD Hopkins model.

Excalibur Crew for 2002!
Having read the Cedar Fair Annual Report, I would say there is a better than 75% chance that resort expansion will continue. When you look over the figures, the major increases in revenue over the past 10 years or so have been in resort revenue. While attendance levels have remained relatively flat since Raptor, the hotel room night have soared. I don't recall the exact figures but it has been significant.
While I do think M.A. will get some attention I think the purchase of that park was more a defensive move for Cedar Point. Having regretted the passover of Geauga Lake, I think Kinzel decided not to let the competition eat away at any more of his market share. That is not to say that M.A. isn't a good park that they won't make better...I just think there were other motives.

Well I expect the park to take the year off while Soak City gets some attention.

Excalibur Crew for 2002!
I still have that issue of the paper where Kinzel said that"
Kinzel's biggest regret was not buying the former Geauga Lake park when he had the chance six years ago because it would have kept Six Flags Worlds of Adventure out of the market

Except that when you are Missouri there are lots of people that DO know and DO talk. Amazing what you can learn when you go drinking with execs. However not much has been said about WOF other than NO COASTER in 2003, and the Aquatic Arena is history

OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD....
It is bad enough in August when every one starts to wonder "what will my park get for next year", but it isn't even the end of April yet. Most seasonal parks are not even open yet (and the ones that are are open for only limited operations on weekends). I can't understand it. Have attention spans gotten so short that we have to start looking forward to 2003 before 2002 even really gets underway?
Personally, I would rather get out there and enjoy the parks this summer rather than sit here at my PC and worry about what certain parks are getting for next summer.

who said wof? I said cedarpoint would get a coaster for 2003!
I never said they wouldn't. They most certainly could if they wanted to and thought that they could make enough ROI from it. The post directly above this was directed towards VF, and not towards your post about CP getting a coaster. ok? ;)
