i have a couple of things i hope this is i hope it is a floorless,or a giga. i would like to see a floorless be built because you do not see very many of them around here. and i would like a giga because a paramount park does not contain a giga coaster.

Well, since PKI has one of the biggest collections of "kiddie" or "family" style coasters, they might build the longest, fastest and tallest "Stand-up" kiddie coaster in the world. (just "kid"ding.)
Hey, I'm sure whatever PKI builds it is going to be a good addition to the park. PKI has done a great job in the past few years, even if they haven't built a steel hyper yet. Half of the fun is the guessing.

Ok i have one thing that i have been thinking about. They are clearing land and they have taken out KCKC. Well maybe they dont wanna "disturb" the beast either. So lets think thrill ride for the KCKC area. How about an S&S tower, double, triple or quadrouple. I think thats what it is, but i may be way off.

Yeah, ACE members love those S&S towers since they're so much like coasters.

Kings Island realy should add a 270 foot hyper giga coaster to improve the park.

What I think is amusing in all of this is that most everyone thinks this ride will be a coaster. I mean, we all wish it was going to be some grand coaster design that towers over the back of the park, but in reality it will probably be something much different. I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock into the coaster idea just yet.
If I remember media day this year correctly, Jeff S. said that the ride was going to be quite an adventure and that we would like it. Now, since he was speaking to a bunch of ACE members, you might be able to pull a coaster reference out of it, but I'm just wondering how many people will seem disappointed here if it's not.
I'm open to anything back there as long as the ride does two things. One, divert enough people out of Action Zone for the time being to give the park a more 'balanced' feel, and two, be able to stand the test of time. What I mean by that is, a rollercoaster seems like a unique experience each time you ride it, unlike a dark ride like Phantom Theater, where the more you ride it the more it fails to impress because you know what's coming. If they can manage to adhere to these two points, I'll be happy no matter what they put in.

I'd like to add one thing to Chris's list of what this ride needs to do... Fit the theming. I'm hoping that Rivertown doesn't turn into Oktoberfest.

Whatever PKi decides to do there (they probably already know) Im sure that they dont want to disturb the Beast either, as it is one of their most popular rides after 20+ years. A hyper could be built and head over towards White Water Canyon and not disturb the Beast. But realistically I do not see them adding another coaster for 2002. I would like S& S towers, but do not see that as a possibility as they built Drop Zone in 1999. (But you never know) Im sure whatever they do I will be pleased with it (unless its another dark ride)

I am betting that since the land was cleared away so early in the year, its going to be big, whatever it is. I doubt it will be a 3d anything, reason being they already have 7th portal, smash factory, and the VR Voyager (located by FOF). Think of what they are lacking. Hyper/giga, liquid coaster, and something that has a good compasity. This gives you a rough outline of what they might get.

I think that a hyper would really make the park boom. They already have enough woodies so a steel hyper would be nice. How about a 320 foot drop, that sounds nice

Whatever PKI adds next year, it NEEDS TO BE GOOD!!! They need to add something to bring more people to the park. SFWoA is already zoning for a hyper (as said in the news section of this site) and CP is probably getting a thrust air. Their sign says: Thrust into 2002 with extreme air. PKI needs to add something big. I read somewhere that they were going to turn into a "real" Theme park. With a dark ride and theming all over the park. I like theming, but not alot of darkrides in a park.

1)Where is this TA2K sign at CP?
2)Did you know that PKI already does attrcat BIG crowds?
3)Where did PKI ever say they were going to be a "real" theme park? That's just a rumor.
Like I said before, PKI needs:
1)hyper/giga
2)B&M invert
3)water coaster
4)nothing else is *needed*, but keep it coming

One thing that is making me mad is that everyone is saying that PKI is getting out of the coaster wars to concentrate on theming and becoming a theme park. This was just a rumor and has never been, and probably never will be confirmed. There was a post on this site (that seems to have been deleted) about a ride at PKI for next year that won`t be built on the KCKC site but somewhere else that has been code named by thrillride "inferno" Anyone know anything on this?

Yes, that was my post and I can only guess that they didn't want another PKI thread up at the same time as this one.
Anyway, Bob Coker of ThrillRide learned the details of the INFERNO project (This name wasn't given by Thrillride, but quoted by a contractor bidding on the show building). You can read his comments on his rumor page. He says it's definitely not a coaster, and that the show building could easily be $3 million as reported last week. He also says that it's not slated for the KCKC site, and that it's still possible we could see a coaster there.

Well, I wonder where that "inferno" ride would go at. I think it would be good if they did add two rides, one in Coney Mall, and one in Rivertown (hopefully a coaster) as it would really spread out the crowds.

I just recently checked out the thrillride rumors page again, Bob Coker said that the "inferno" building is only part of the story and that there is a reason that the "ride building" costs so much. Gosh, I wish I know what he knows about Paramount`s Kings Island`s 30th anniversary attractions!

My sister visited PKI about a week ago, and she said that she saw a huge green wooden fence next to the Beast which was surrounding a gaping hole, but she claims it was not big enough for a coaster. Even though coasters do not go in holes too much. ? She did not see any construction or equipment there.
