Magnum is perhaps the last of the true 'steak and potato' coasters, built in the days before lab coats, desktop CAD and FEA took over.
It's big and it's red and it won't cradle you like your Mommy.
There's no wacky, new-age foot-swinging seating
There's no cartoon superhero for hawking souvenirs
There's no gimmicky theming to get you in some 'mood'
There's no artsy-fartsy re-engineered supports
There's no pansy, computer-tuned bunny hops
There's no Crayola-tone color scheme some 4 year-old picked out
There's absolutely nothing overbanked, hypertwistied, inverted or goofalooped about it
It's a plain old, bare knuckle, straight-up, no-chaser, big-hilled, out-and-back, jolt-you-into-the-lap-bar REAL COASTER built during a REAL COLD WINTER by REAL STEELWORKERS who probably ate big slabs of beef and downed vodka at the end of their workday.
If I want showmanship, I'll go see the circus.
For the last of the true coasters, I'll board Maggie.
