This is a dive machine layout that was found. It is what was described in the MSNBC article that started the whole dive machine rumor. That article is longer on the MSNBC site, but you can read the article here:

Well that doesn't look all that thrilling. Heck, that looks shorter than Oblivion!

Well, what I really want is a large drop. To find a with a 200' drop, I'd have to drive 15+ hours. The ride would fit perfectly into Stanleyville as it is not an enormous area. If an out and back hyper was to be built, I'm sure it would have to go in the Serengeti Plain.

It is funny that the news got out in response to a complaint letter about not enough thrill rides at the park. *starts writing complaint letters to lots of parks* :)

Moosh, I don't think that is shorter than Oblivian. You got the plunge and turn and then another tunnel and then more before you turn again and go into the station. The article mentions inversions and a water splash down.

It's not a RCT image. I wish RCT had the ability to make smooth turns like that. The images are from a B&M patent. I don't know if it is the ride, it just matches the description from that MSNBC article.

Coasterbruh, what would be the station is right before the lift...

Not saying it wouldn't be nice to try it, but I haven't crossed the pond just to ride it.

Besides maybe a couple of coaster enthusiasts, who crosses the pond for just one ride anyway?

I'll ask the RCCGB members when they come to CP next time.

My sources tell me that it's a clone of "Loopscrew" complete with La-Z-Boy rolling stock.

Head over to Rare Roller Coaster Resources and check out the B&M Dive Machine patents... you'll see the same exact drawing. Leading me to believe this is NOT a dive machine.

My comments on this thread can be best summed up by Chris Tucker in "Money Talks"

"Man, get the hell up off me! ...Hey....Where yo' shirt at?!?"

No sir...dont like 'em.

BeyondOblivion

Hi all,

I saw a documentary on a season in the life of Alton Towers a while back, which documented the construction and opening of Oblivion. Andy Hine (the head of the RCCGB) was amoung the first to experience the ride. I don't recall his exact words, but it was something along the lines of "fantastic" He drew particular attention- as most people do- to the elements of the ride which inflict psychological torture on the riders, which really do give the ride a unique and unsettling atmosphere.

This genre of ride would be a feather in the cap of BGT as it would be "A FIRST" for the US; you can also see the park literature now. Whether BGT would want cough up the asking price remains to be seen.

Incidentally, the possesion of a "world first" figured largely in the mindset of John Wardley and is probably how he justified the massive cost to the execs.

Best,

B.

I hear that Paul Reuben already thinks the new BGT ride will be the best coaster in Florida.

And a certain 'consultant' will agree for a pickle chip.

Well like I've said from the beginning, I am still hoping for that B&M Hyper. But hey...a Dive Machine will work too! I was happy when we got Cheetah Chase, unlike some people. The way i see it, if you are an enthusiast, a REAL enthusiast, you will accept, and be grateful for whatever coaster may come your way. I just know I can't wait to see what this is!!
