BGT New Coaster for 2005!

What has 48 feet, but rarely touches the ground?"

What if the train has some empty seats ?
Or it's full, but someone only has one leg/foot ?

;-)

All indications point to a Dive Machine.

I'm still hoping for some different style of car because Oblivions are the ugliest ones I've ever seen. Look like a big stick with wheels in the center.

Have Fun!

See you on the Rails.
The birds eye view means...

That you have a birds eye view of the whole park. Meaning, tallest ride in park.

What about the bird with no feathers and the beast with no equal??
Im guessing it would be themed after a bird and the "beast" would be the coaster and no coaster could compare to it??

There are no bad coasters, only better coasters!!

where did u read bird with no feathers and beast with no equal?

but my guess is that you will feel the air against ur body i guess because ull be dropping? Just like a bird with no feathers would do. Beast with no equal probably means that it will be the tallest, fastest coaster of its kind at least.

What is taller than 30 Giraffes, and faster than a charging Rhino?
Giraffes average around 18 feet. Black Rhino's can charge around 35MPH.

What is too fast to see, but has a bird's eye view?
Probably refering to the Hummingbird. The wings are too fast to see with the human eye.

I am a bird without feathers, a beast with no equal, a fall that never hits the ground?
IIRC the only bird without feathers is the Penguin.

What has 48 feet but seldom hits the ground?
3 rows of 8 riders per train.

Pure speculation, but I'm thinking it'll be 180+ feet tall, have a holding brake, and maybe dive into a tunnel surrounded by water.

Its obviously a B&M Dive Machine called THE PHOENIX or THE ROC.

A The Phoenix is one of a fabulous birds of legend which is born of Eqgyptain Legend.

A mythological bird that it might be based on is the Roc (pronounced like "rock"). It is mentioned in the Arabian collection of folktales called One Thousand and One Arabian Nights. The stories of Aladdin and Sinbad the Sailor both appear in the Arabian Nights, and both mention the Roc. The Roc is a huge eagle-like bird that is said to be able to carry off and eat elephants. In Aladdin, the Roc is supposedly the genie's master. In one of the stories of Sinbad, the Roc attacks his ship.

If Lifes a Rollercoaster, I want a Flawless
I don't think it will be named after a bird, I think they just made the riddle include as many animals as possible because its Busch Gardens a thrillpark/zoo.

Erm - Rollocoast - sorry to say that penguins have feathers too! Feathers are a characteristic of all birds, and penguins have adapted feathers that help them to live in their natural environment.

BTW - the way things are going at Alton Towers, they will be able to get a second-hand Dive Machine and have another duelling coaster experience! ;-)

Legend, I don't think they will name another ride in the park Phoenix. The swinging inverter ship in timbuktu is also called Phoenix, so I am sure that can be ruled out. My thoughts are that the ride name will stick with the "Dr Stanley" adventures that he had in Africa. After all, the other names in "Stanleyville" are taken from his journeys. Tanganyika Tidal Wave is named after Lake Tanganyika. The former Zambezi Pavillion was named after the Zambezi river. So I think if we all study the History of Henry Stanley and David Livingstone we may find a name.

See you on the Rails.
Phoenix sounds like a cool name (obviously -- go Knoebel's) but BGT already has a Phoenix flat ride. Besides, I think the more logical mythological name goes in the opposite direction. So my money is on Icarus.

Scrambling to find some old Iron Maiden to verify. . .

Correct me if I'm wrong - but TIDAL WAVE was named just that from way back just as TIDAL WAVE only recently to have it's name changed.

What if the trains are actually 6 rows with 4 across to alter the Dive design. Just a thought

Highly doubtful, although FAR from impossible. The reasoning with the weird train design for the Dive Machines is to *maximize* the number of front-row seats...although, *if* it were to have inversions, that 8-across seating might be kinda tricky to pull off...

bill, thinking it's *inversion-free*....;)

I think another problem with going the 4 across route is that the longer you make the train, the faster the last car or two will be pulled over the extremely abrupt transition from horizontal to vertical track. Although this would be a good opportunity for airtime, it may also produce negative g's in dangerous amounts.
