2009 What a great year!
Driven to the point of insanity

Only one criticism that would make this day even better... if they would send out trains more than every five minutes. Literally from stop in the station, to go, was five minutes in-between runs, and the blue train was parked in transfer.
Overall an extremely fun and enjoyable ride... A++ for Waldameer and Gravity Group. While I've never ridden Voyage or Hades I can say that this baby has some good airtime even in the front seat, and tracks very smoothly. A very, very good ride... worth the long construction wait for it.

The ride is very impressive in terms of smoothness and voyage-like similarities. The operation was a bit slow, sending out one train every five to ten minutes or so, but I am sure it will get better.
As for the ride, the first half is incredible. The ride has a lot of airtime, great laterals, and the tunnels had birds flying out of them on two of my three rides, so watch out!
On the back half the ride although didn't really slow down, lost some of its insane-intensity compared to the first half, but was still fun. I don't rate the ride as high as Voyage, Thunderhead, or even Wildcat, but it really is an amazing ride. I was surprised on how smooth it was.
Also, the ride seems to be running a new style PTC train, with the second row of every car "stadium seated" a bit, giving a little extra leg room (especially for me!).
In conclusion, the park was pretty dead in general with all rides being walk-on basically, except for Ravine Flyer. The people in attendance seemed to LOVE the ride and will be a huge hit for most everybody. It is definitely a must ride if you are anywhere near the park! Great job Gravity Group and congratulations Waldameer!
There was about a 30-40 min wait,1 train only.I talked to Paul Nelson(great guy!)he said the reason for one train is,the ride hasnt been programed for two trains yet,the person that does the programing got sick and hasnt been able to do it yet.
The ride ops were great,I was a single rider and they let me sit in the very front then in the very back, they were nice enough to find me a partner each time. They didnt staple me in either.
As for the ride,I loved it!Very fast and smooth,no dead spots for me.Maybe its starting to break in now.Its just a fun coaster that is very rerideable. The coaster IMO is a perfect fit for Waldameer.
Does the lift hill seem steeper than normal? It did for me for some reason, maybe they did that because of lack of space.
Found a great place to eat by the park, its down the road a little bit on the right side after you go under the bridge for the coaster. Its called "Sara's".GREAT hotdogs and homemade onion rings, some of the best I have ever had,and reasonably priced.
Mamoosh said:I give the guy in the HOLISTER sweatshirt about years before coming out. lol
That's a guy?
I would, however, like to think that maybe I am RFII's first casualty. After crossing the bridge outbound and pulling up into the turnaround, I got lateraled into the edge of the left side of the car. I felt my rib POP. Sounded just like a knuckle popping. It was a nightmare riding the rest of the ride back. I never reported the injury, but maybe should have. Just sat down at the end of the exit ramp and rested.
Feels a bit better now, still hurts to breathe deep or push on that area, but I can honestly say the ride kicks butt (or it kicked something) :)
I may have saw you in line, were you wearing a "Villian" shirt?
My injury was my own stupid fault. The signs tell you to sit back, I didn't, I was too busy leaning forward so that I could see past my partner and gawk around down to the right. That's how the left edge of the car managed to punch me in the ribcage. No big deal, I'll heal.
Sorry to hear about you getting hurt Kevin, you got to watch this coaster,it will bite you if you arent carefull.. :)
My favorite part is definitely the second crossing over the bridge, down into the tunnel. Great floater airtime, followed by some very fast airtime hills in the tunnel. Remarkable.
If only I didn't live 5 hours from Waldameer, I would definitely be back!

Its in my top five for sure, probably #3.
