Waldameer post major revision of Ravine flyer layout.

OK say I go shopping at the store and I leave something on the bottom of the cart and the cashier does not do their job and check to see if I have anything down there. So I do not pay for it and do not bring it to the attention of the cashier that I had something down there. Apperently this is just poor management and not steeling because the cashier did not do their job correctly. I should just feel alright about it because I spent money on everthing else I purchased! Wrong! This is also steeling because I new what I was doing and was trying to get away with it!

Um... It's stealing - not steel-ing.. And new is diffrent than knew.

It's the operators responsibility. It's not like they're purposely overlooking something in the basket, it's more along the lines of the item on the counter and the cashier not scanning it and putting it into the bag. You're there doing your part - if someone doesn't do their job that's their problem, not yours.

YMMV.

You can try to justify it however you want, but it's still "taking" without "paying".

As long as the coaster runs, the rain is not a concern to me. In fact, the ride will likely be all that more insane with a good rain! :)

Thanks for the spelling lesson!

The fact still remains the same purposely trying to get a free ride is wrong and it is a form of stealing! The ride opps do forget to check for wristbands and take tickets because most people have wristbands. People should just be honest!

First of all, I have never done this, so do not jump on my back, if I do ride, I buy a wristband because it's just plain stupid not to, when rides are about 3 tickets a piece, it is only 4 rides if you pay for tickets...

With this said however, my friends have done this with me there with them. They have never gotten in line without the amount of tickets needed to ride on them, the ride operator doesn't take them and they forget to get them out, whether knowingly or not.

You're analogy has no bearing. By saying that, this means also that you have never been given a coupon for something free, because if it's a good item that you didn't pay for it's stealing, because other people have to pay for it to get it... It's essentially the ride operator giving you a "Free Ride" coupon because they failed to do their job correctly.

Battle it either way, I don't really care, because all I get is a Ride-A-Rama, but with this known I wont be "STEELING" any rides on Saturday.

If you have 50 people you can get a group discount anyway but you might have to buy in advance.

Other altenative is buy 2 cases of pepsi "coupon" cans. They usually save $2.50 per combo. I haven't seen one yet but they seem to do it every year.

Just took a peek at the rates and you can get them for $15.25 which is not bad at all. School voucher are good for May,June and August 19th thru Labor day. *** Edited 5/15/2008 6:36:48 PM UTC by rsscbell***

Only once will we have a group of 50 or so...the other times will be me and my small group in the extended family (Godkids/nieces/nephews), and usually get the tix at AAA ($18 combo tix this year)....otherwise, it didn't hurt to ask...how long are they selling the PTA tix? I live in the Youngstown OH area, and I usually just drive straight to the park with the AAA tix in in hand.

Pta is selling them at school events, concerts ect.Try snooping around www.mtsd.org for school calendars All the middle and grade schools handle their ticket sale differently. Maybe you will get lucky.

Well, It will be just my 14yr old and I sticking out the whole day. My wife and 18yr old are going to ride once in the morning and once after we meet for dinner. Guess i'll save a few dollars for more funnel cakes.

The Erie Times-News just put together this package of all of their videos leading up to the opening of the coaster. The latest one is a reaction from some of the coaster's first riders.

Are you referring to John Waite, the singer?

I have been wishing/waiting for a major wood coaster at Waldameer since 1972. I think I can wait another day. Actually I went in today and bought a 2x shirt before the are picked over tommorow. Today is the crossing gaurd/bus patrol picnic for millcreek schools. Otherwise they would not have been open.

Re: the Erie Times footage with riders. Two thoughts...

1. The coaster already seems to be picking up speed from the early test footage.

2. Talk about "gaydar"...I give the guy in the HOLISTER sweatshirt about 4 years before coming out. lol ;)

My daughter said the same thing when I showed her the clip! Coaster-eye for the non strait guy? I wonder if the ride was a spur of the moment surprise for the employees?

And it does seem to be breaking in well.I doubt they had enough water weight to rival a full train during the test runs. So it could make a slight difference.

Another observation; No lights on the track or structure. Two floods on a pole under the east turnaround with one facing the parking lot. Thats it!

Erie times news quote."Interest in the new coaster is higher than bids for the first ride. Four groups of coaster enthusiasts are scheduled to visit the park this summer. The editor of Amusement Today will check it out, as well as a New York Times reporter, and Paul Ruben, the editor of North American Park World."
And it will no doubt be procaimed a "top ten" ride!
