looks like there installing the turn into the station area now, isn't it wierd that they went from box track, to 2 rail for brakes, and in the cam looks like they went back to box track for the ending brakes?

The final brakes are retractable, so they need to use the box track there to operate them.

I'd imagine the two-rail sections are more accomodating for the braking equipment.

I think we're noticing a pattern here with CP and "dingers". First Power Tower, now this.

ok Jeff, thanks for clearing that up, are they retractable so they can accomidate a train in holding when stacked? for maybe 3 train operation? two in stations (loading, unloading) and one in brakes??

Dinger:The Ride?

I can hear the comments of people exiting the ride..

"So, how was it dude."
"I dunno about you, but I thought it was a real 'Hum Dinger'"

This thing is gonna be sa-weet!

Before someone starts a new topic on this:

The tower's now topped off and new track is going up.

Hmmmm, perhaps it's time to start a new thread about this...;)

Hey, it seems like an aweful short amount of track to be getting up to speed. What if the engineers didn't calculate correctly??!! Wouldn't that be funny if it only went halfway up the tower?! And all that money spent on such a big tower too. It'd be a shame! They'd have to market it differently and everything!

The next thing we will be hearing is that they will build a "FishHook" off the other side of the tower.... Or that PKI will be adding one to the Eiffel Tower.....;)

Can anyone say S:TE? Not THAT would be *the Ultimate* in ironies!

Does anyone know where I can veiw photos of the new ride?

www.cedarpoint.com and go to live web cams.
Need I remind everyone that there is a bolt for the supports UNDER the top piece of track, so the top of the supports means top of track.

-----------------

...and if you're not watching it, the track is now leveling off, ready to go over the top. Coool!
