The real "What is Holiday World up to?" thread

I agree that the 20 feet probably refers to the walkways...but, I wonder how wide a chute the chutes type of ride would be if it used both parks like Typhoon at Worlds and Oceans of Fun

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.
What is the usual capacity for a carousel? 84 seems like a big number. I would love to see an appropriately themed carousel show up next year.
Well a Huss Giant frisbee is maXair and PKI's Delerium, a regular frisbee is like this http://sfftnet.com/fiestabayboardwalk-frisbee.php

<ahem!> $13.2 million, folks...lets be realistic! ;)
Ok, so what did Hades cost?

Yeah is Good!
Thanks,
Have riden Delerium. Great ride and would make a nice addition to HW. Just not familiar with the term "frisbee" for this type of ride.

There is a huge hint that everyone has missed so far ... I don't expect anyone to catch it, actually...but I will post about it on the HoliBlog within a day or two following the announcement.

What have we missed?????? I thought that we had picked apart every word that Paula had posted both here and on Holiblog. I am going home and going back over everything one more time and try to make all of the numbers fit. My guess, when we finally know, we will all kick ourselves for not putting the hints together.

I am only going to kick myself if there is no coaster. I might kick a few other people too if that happens. ;) Otherwise, there may have been more clues, but I figured it out a long time ago so it's all good if I missed one.
Since there will be drawings/renderings/animations or whatever, I think we will know what the basic design will be- maybe we just won't know the theme/name yet? Maybe since we didn't get to aid in the design process this time, we will get to pick the name?
Believe me ... you've all helped enough! :)

I am sure they still have all the suggestions they got for Legend as well as tons of other things we have said about coasters so in a way I am sure we did help with the design.

edit: I got a phone call in the middle of typing that, and Paula posted first. wups :) *** Edited 7/7/2005 11:23:01 PM UTC by RavenTTD***

Maybe the 66 degrees is how much a ride banks or the degrees of a turn?

I thought about the banking, but 66 degrees is not too much for a turn so I doubt they would market that. However it is 1 degree more than TGG's last project which was an American record for a drop, so that is my guess.
Paula you can't be sick of us yet! Just hold out until the 13th- then you can stop religiously checking these boards everyday.. for awhile! :)

Believe me ... you've all helped enough!

Oh no, another hint..... "Enough" of what?

I get it now, Holiday World was at a loss for what to add, so they play with us like this so we give them ideas.... ;-), I got your number now Paula... lol.

"Hang in there"

Maybe it's an inverted coaster?

If it is an invert on HW's budget, that would make it a hang and bang and the rest of the budget would be for free unlimited Tylenol. ;)
Hello, CoasterBuzz world!

I just had to bring this to attention...

If you watch the video on http://www.proslide.com/whatsnew/whatsnew.htm for the Behemoth Bowl, you'll notice that one trip from top to bottom takes almost exactly 24 seconds. Does anyone know what the radius or the diameter of the Behemoth, Cannon, or ProBOWLs are, because I'm willing to bet that it's awfully close to 20 feet. And this may also be the true meaning behind the "face lift" for the Bamboo Chute. I don't think a full week's HoliHint would have been focused just around a new support structure or possible adjustment to a layout of a secondary water slide.

Just a thought!

Paula, is there still going to be any pictures posted in the Holiblog before the 13th that are kinda like the Diggin' Around post? If you can post any more construction pics like those, it would be great.

I was kicking myself for not bringing our digital camera this morning when we shot some B-roll for TV stations outside our market...it's actually quite pretty back there along the Snowy White Gravel Road.

All I can say is I'll try ... as I'm sure you can imagine, this is "crunch" time for me, so I can't promise I'll have time to head up there.

Thanks, Paula
