The real "What is Holiday World up to?" thread

Quick OT useless info: Nail polish suffocates the chiggers, so they die...

Thanks, Bill. But with all that nail polish, my legs would be so stiff, I wouldn't be able to walk.

The Calomine Lotion helps some. I've always had over-reactions to insect bites. And if I get one bite or sting, I get dozens.

My husband says it's because I'm so sweet. :) (Can you believe he still talks this way after 23 years of marriage?)

That is actually incorrect. The chiggers are usually brushed off when you start scratching. It's their digestive juices that they have injected into your skin that causes the welt and the itch.

But that doesn't mean that I've never used nail polish. ;)

Yeah is Good!
So, Paula, is your husband being sweet because you've already tipped him off, or are we going with the standard "the husband is always the last to know" routine? We just need to know who to try bribing next. :)
^ Close. The chigger actually bites and feeds through a "feeding tube". That's what stays lodged after the chigger is killed/brushed off.

Paula,
He better after 23 years of marriage! ;) Or else he knows by now he'd be getting either nothing ;) or da boot!

And congratulations on 23 years of marriage.

I know Homey, I was trying to dumb down the issue to keep it concise. The feeding tube itself is caused by our bodies reaction to the chiggers digestive juices.

I knew that you knew that I knew. Now they know. :)

All I know is the damn things ITCH like crazy. ;-)

This is fun! Where else would you learn so much about chiggers and the new section/ride at Holiday World all in the same thread? ;-)

:-P

So...the new rides' name is gonna be Chigger Chase, with the tag line "Catch the itch"??? ;)

I think they scratched that idea, Jon ;)
Paula posted some new pictures in Holiblog. They were taken in the area behind Splashin' Safari and near the clearing in the woods. I guess that eliminates the possibility that the new section is going to be between the Raven and Legend.

Very interesting on one of those quotes.

We get teased a lot for being "in the middle of a corn field." Looks like this year's crop is a new hybrid.
Taken from Holiblog

Too me that is a pretty big hint that this is gonna be a TGG hybrid Wood and Steel supported Woodie.

I could be wrong, but somehow I think I am right on target. Maybe it is Thanksgiving, and the Hybrid hints toward one of John Madden's Traditional 6 legged Hybrid turkeys he used to give out on Thanksgiving. Maybe he will be on hand with his Bus for the announcement? hahaha

Chris

Ah yes, the 6 legged Turducken...simply a masterpiece to behold.

Maybe we should change that to the national bird because we're not allowed to eat eagles...I mean Australians are allowed to eat Kangaroo! :)

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
regarding the holiblog "cooler underground" comment, something was said to earlier about the area behind the wave pool being built up with dirt. uh, where is that dirt coming from...underground somewhere in the forest maybe? has anyone seen digging or trenching equipment being brought in?

or

using the hades model, where could they go underground? i wonder if they will trench the employee parking lot for a bigger-than-hades underground course between eagles flight and forest clearing. what would be really sweet would be a large drop at the forest edge, underground across the valley, with a swoop turnaround OUTSIDE on the side of eagles flight hillside for a return back across the valley.

Dude, you were the ONLY one who thought it was going there!

http://www.thegravitygroup.com/styles_3.html = if holiday world gets one of these two monsters, I'll be happy! I like the layout of both, only the one on the bottom / left looks much better to me.

But chances are, if it is a GG rollercoaster, it will be an original design and not something they have already desgined like this... Unless, one of these desgins IS the original coaster there getting...

Boy, all this specualtion sure is fun, but I WILL be kicking myself when I find there is no coaster plans... But those Photos posted in the Holiblog sure do look like Footers for something..............

The latest entries really seem to be hinting towards valintines day for a theme. You have the one about the flowers over the internet from people that fell in love and the guest being friendly to each other. To me that seems like a very big clue.
Wow, well that says a lot to me. My question is how accurate is RCDB? It lists the Ravens top speed at 48mph...... I know its more along the line of 60+ MPH...

And most of all, how did they get this info? Paula, have you noticed anything different about the lock on your door? I'd check.... ;=/

Have you seen the pics in the Holiblog? Those pics look very similar to.....well lets just say they aren't makin' holes to plant flowers. *** Edited 7/2/2005 2:35:17 AM UTC by mudinthevayne***
