The real "What is Holiday World up to?" thread

So Paula, was paul correct about where the new walkway to the new themed section will go? It seems the most logical.

Hey Swoosh...I'm certain she'll let us know on the 13th.

Yeah, I know. :( But you can't blame me for trying.

LOL! Just to help keep the thread moving along toward page 50 (I'm doing it FOR THE CHILDREN...)....Paul has *heard* where the new midway(s) are heading. Considering Paul's locale, I'd give those ideas some credibility... ;)

For me though, I tend to agree with Paula about the terms mentioned. I think of a "midway" as having attractions (games, rides, what-have-you) on both sides, a walkway is something that leads you TO an area where those things are located. Never have seen that more clearly demonstrated than Marineland, where the "walkways" were 20 feet wide and had vehicular traffic...employees and contractors, full-sized vehicles. One "lap" around that park had to be over 2 miles...Canaadians MUST be in better shape than Americans, LOL!

I never HAD a copy of the Dictionary of Theme Park Terminology (probably have to work at a park to get one anyhow, LOL)....just like regular English, I mainly make it up as I go along.... ;)

Oh, I wasn't denying Paul's credibility -- I just wanted to hear it from Mrs. PR. ;)

Actually everything I have heard about the midway/walkway has been either here on C-Buzz or on the Holiblog. I haven't been at the park that much this year due to work so I haven't had the chance to talk to many of my sources recently.

Now I am curious if the general rumors about 2006 that I have heard from a myriad of sources in and outside of the park are correct. But I'll have to wait nine more days to find that all out.

Have Fun

well we are all fairly sure that a coaster is in the plans for the new section but I am dying to know what else is going into the area. I mean they wouldn't only slap down a roller coaster and call it a day. So what other flats can we expect? Maybe a frisbee? Oooo that would rock! 9 days *sigh* much too far away!

Wildfire01 - Paula has hinted that one of the new attractions for the new area is something Pat Koch has wished for some time now. Some seem to think that's a dark ride, I think its a carousel.
I expect a carousel, maybe a ferris wheel and a dark ride plus a nice BIG woodie like Hades maybe. An a new Tilt a Whirl.

It is a FACT that The Voyage is the greatest thing on the planet!!
Remember, the budget is a mere $13.5 million!

As long as you've got money,
for a Dippin' Dots stand in the new land,
my days there will be sunny. ;)

They Live. We Sleep.

I don't think that a dark ride is in the plans.
After building the entire new section, the new coaster and whatever Splashin' Safari is getting, I don't think they're going to have the money to build a respectable, fun dark ride. Just my oppinion, but we'll know soon enough!
A Dippn' Dots stand would be great.
A bit OT: Those BLUE boats on Ragin' Rapids sure look GREEN to me... might need to change the color settings on my screen though ;)

yeah very green to me. I would send em back or get a refund if it were me!

Oh, man ... after what we went through to get them here...

Well. They're blue in my book! :)

Well, isn't there usually some "discussion" around town....the construction people pick up soft drinks (sorry, pop, LOL) at the convenience store and maybe are laughing about getting the pickup stuck in some mud...mud that maybe only a local would know where to find...that kinda stuff. Not exactly the hair salon or the barbershop necessarily, but people are pretty friendly overall, and not "everything" is monitored for content... :)

Whatever comes with the coaster (since Duane hasn't been asked to "taken it down", I guess that much is OK for us to know at this point). The rest we get to salivate over..:)

edit: Didn't we have the blue-green colorblindness discussion about 5 years ago....and then again a few times since then? ;)

P.S. Have I mentioned how much I love those Sally interactive dark rides lately? ;)

Mud?

What mud?

We're getting the first bit of rain we've had in three weeks just now.

We started our fireworks about 15 minutes early...worked out perfectly. Now it's pouring.

Don't worry...we're one day closer to the announcement. (Thank goodness!)

A TGG Hybrid coaster that runs through the mud?

No mud? Wow, we've got PLENTY....everything is near-flooded again, and hurricane season hasn't touched us yet...

A hybrid coaster/swampbuggy ride doesn't sound as much fun as some might think anyway, LOL...

One thing I'm NOT is worried....I just LOVE the speculating! :)

Hybrid darkride/carousel maybe? ;)
