The real "What is Holiday World up to?" thread

My husband stopped counting the bites at 100 (when he ran out of fingers, toes and teeth).

Back to topic...the meeting with the architect was fascinating. All that goes into planning walkways, service roads, utilities, etc. Mrs. Koch and I kept looking at each other and shaking our heads. The engineering types were in their element.

Of course, one of the main topics of discussion was building around trees.

duh-ble down!

duh-ble down!

I just got the PKD newsletter and their 4th of July fireworks are scheduled for July 2-4th. That is great for me cause I am going east for the holiday and we are going to PKD on July 2nd.

Since there are no trees in the raised area except for the paths heading back behind SS through the woods. Building around trees could only mean COASTER!

Thank you, Thank you very much.
Chuck, who's had the L shaped out and back figured out for a little over a week now but I will no doubt be surprised at announcement time. Im not only looking forward to the coaster but the whole package :)

I was there last Saturday. I def. think that the new area is going behind the rapids ride. There was a very large pile of dirt there and you could see where the path was being cut into the woods. But I don't know that part may be for the waterpark. I guess we will find out on July 13th.

See, that's the difference between Holiday World and that other amusement park World.

Holiday World builds *around* trees.

That other World just *builds* trees. :)

I just saw on the news that we need to mobilize. We have to get a campaign going with letters and phone calls to Florida and Texas. It appears that NASA is trying to upstage the Holiday World announcement with a few fireworks of their own on the very same day!

Remember Barry as Paula told me buring my tour through the park back in April the whole area down hill from the rapids and across the valley:

"next year this view will be very different"

Ok, but my question is this: On 7 / 13 will we not only know what section it will be, but what will GO INTO that section as well? Or will we have to wait (please nooooo) for a longer time to find out whats going into the new area, and of course what SS is getting!

Landon

PS) Paula, keep up the good work. You got me hooked on this topic and I have to visit at least 6 times a day ;=)

No...we wouldn't do that to you (or ourselves!).

You'll know the theme for the section, plus details of what's going in it and where.

Chuck, they could be getting one of those steam engine trains. ;)

Oh...sorry Chuck. The conversation yesterday involved walkways and bridges.

But walkways and bridges can be exciting, too. :)

See...give us a HoliHint, we stay on topic! The more hints you give the more likely it is we remain on topic ;)
Paula - you left us with 10 possible holidays that it could be. How about with 10 days left you start counting down to the annoucement by eliminating 1 holiday per day from that list? That would keep us on track over here I bet.
Oh, Bridges of the Stew Pipeline.

Ok, Im not confused anymore. :)

Makes me wonder if the new area might include a pond/lake for the creek that flooded. There is so much that they could do to make the area around that creek beautiful. I am sure at least at one point you will have to cross over it either in the new area or to get to the new area.
I think you're all missing her point(maybe?)- she got the chiggers near the Raven.. she brought them up again in refrence to scoping out the new area... soo..

Is it possible the attraction to ?move? is the high dive show and the new holiday will fit snuggly in the empty area between Raven's station and Legend's helix? With this theory the new coaster would be a part of this holiday and stretch near the Raven, behind the Legend all the way over to the part of the woods we can clearly see them clearing. This would make more sense in terms of SS just because a coaster sitting near the employee parking lot would block their future huge expansion of SS.

But the big problem with this theory is that this would lump all 3 coasters together and draw crowds to one area. But then again this is not a huge park and there isn't as much concern in that area. HHMMMmmm...

She also mentioned Will and the architect probably got chiggers while walking the new area. Remember, not *everything* is a hint.

That's my whole point, maybe the new area IS near where she got them- near the Raven. She said that she got the chiggers at the Raven- now she's worried Will and architects will get them too- in the new area, since(in my unlikely theory) it is very near there. *** Edited 7/1/2005 3:34:59 PM UTC by Mr. Bubbles***

Quick OT useless info: Nail polish suffocates the chiggers, so they die...

Back on topic: How about those bridges and walkways?!!? :)

I'll *watch* the shuttle launch, but I'm totally GLUED to this HW announcement, LOL!

Agreed Moosh.

Maybe the only hint is that they will add Free Bug Spray to keep away the chiggers when they open the new area! LOL!

Chiggers are probably more common than most people think they are.

Paula,

I remember you saying that on July 13th, the website will go with a whole bunch of things on the new addition. Will this include artist's renderings? Those are always fun to look at. :)
