Easter? Bunny-shaped tilt cars.
Valentines? Heart-shaped tilt cars.
Thanksgiving? Turkey-shaped...well, you get the idea.

That's funny, but believe it or not it's also a semi-legitimate question. Many small communities have their fireworks on, say the Saturday night nearest the 4th...

"You seem healthy. So much for voodoo."
Now I've heard of chain lifts, cable lifts and elevator lifts, but the face lift is a new one.
Maybe face-lift is the new clue. Is there a holiday to celebrate plastic surgery? Nip/Tuck: The Ride?
The owners at strickers would get furious when they caught someone doing it as it wasn't designed to do that. Not only would it burn clutches but just like old Ferris Wheels, When you burned the rubber out of the end of each sweep. All the cable will do is slip.
However, The Virginia Reel at HW is one of the better tilts I've ridden. Some of them either get overpacked or the actual track and wheels are worn to the point they don't spin like they should. A good Tilt ride is almost as intense as a good Octopus.
As for the path ways, Unless that areas needed for a lifthill or something, I see no reason for moving the Eagles Flight, There are paths to the picnic grove both above and bellow it.
I see the possible removal/replacement of the waterslides right behind Hoosier Celebration theater with a path continuing straight to the new area utilizing the existing SS path. Another path could come up either by Ragin Rapids or down near the Eagles Flight.
Two weeks till announcement, It will be interesting to see either how right some are and how wrong.
I just hope Paula is getting CHUCKLES out of this and isn't getting upset over any of this.

It's not just small communities...the fireworks in Chicago are on Sunday the 3rd...

Back to this topic...I am definitely pretty excited about the new addition(s) to Holiday World. Even though I dont yet know for sure what they are. *** Edited 6/30/2005 8:12:01 PM UTC by beast7369***
Greg and George: Absolutely correct about the fireworks. It varies so much that people really shouldn't refer to them as the "Fourth of July Fireworks", but rather as the "Independence Day Celebration Fireworks". It is very common to have them some time other than the 4th. For example, here in Columbus, the big downtown fireworks display is happening on Friday, July 1!

And the people in the park who ask us what time it is. We respond and then they ask, "Is that your time or my time?"
And the emails I receive that simply ask, "How do we get to your park?"
I'm heading home for some Benedril. Was under The Raven's lifthill yesterday with a photographer and the chiggers were a-bitin'.
So I looked up chiggers online ... and learned how they do their dirty deeds. Now I'm sick to my stomach!

That is for all the drunks to be able to recover on Monday the 4th before having to go back to work on Tuesday July 5th.
Actually, it's for the suburbs. Chicago has its fireworks on the 3rd, and the suburbs can then have their fireworks on the Fourth without competition from the "Big City."

Wouldn't people just go see the show closest to them?
I'd never even heard of chiggers before moving to Indiana.
Several of us met with the architect this afternoon. He and Will had walked the area for the new section this morning. I'll bet they'll be itchin' by tomorrow, poor fellows.

I grew up in Southeast Missouri. The chiggers there are FAR worse then the ones here in S. Indiana. Be Thankful. (Don't know how, but putting fingernail polish on a chigger helps it heal and also helps the itch.) Good Luck with them and have a great 4th, which believe fall on July the 4th this year.
