The real "What is Holiday World up to?" thread

That last picture looks like its for a turnaround or curve for a woodie.

This is exactly what I was talking about weeks ago after my last visit. I really want to head over again next week, especially if it cools down a bit. It's so muggy this time of year.

Anyways I still think that raised area is Splashin Safari related, but either way there is just so much land left for this "coaster" to fit in a new holiday. *** Edited 6/29/2005 11:19:10 PM UTC by Mr. Bubbles***

I thought this was already asked of Paula a few pages back and she said that clearing was for something else.
I'm going there tomorow. Is there any road (other than the white gravel road) that goes around the back side of the park that would allow me to see the other side of the constuction area? I'm going to try to get some good pics from inside the park of the new construction. Also, Paula, when does the new tower cam come back on? I'm looking forward to seeing what we can see from the new water tower cam.

We're looking forward to it, too. You wouldn't believe how many emails I had about it.

Nearly as many as the "What is the date for your 4th of July fireworks" and "sennd me a browsher."

It should be soon ... I saw an appropriate truck parked out there today.

Holiday World

Ok, so I am at the grocery store the other day and all of a sudden I notice some bread with Holiday World and Splashin Safari coupons all over the package. So naturally curious as to what bread this is, after reading the Holiblog the other day, I notice it is "Bunny" brand bread. Could this be a clue, as to the new coaster and the awesome airtime on the bunny hops???!!!
So that means we're back to Easter as the new holiday, right? Or was that one of the ones officially ruled out; I can't remember and I'm too lazy to go to the Holiblog Archive right now...

Still disappointed that it won't be Columbus Day, given his hometown...

Let's see ... theme a ride/section around a big ship (or one big ship and two little 'uns)?

Sorry, Dave, doesn't float my boat. :)

Let's give *thanks* that's it's not Columbus Day. It could of been worse.....it could of been Secretaries Day. :-)

<-----Who is still thinking about Turkey and Ham....the dueling racers. :-P

New Holihint is up...talks about the new walkway...facelift for the Bamboo Chute...so could this pathway go in between the wave pool and river rapids ride? Looking at the park map (and having never been to the park before), would the new section be behind that area?

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

The new section would be behind the wave and bellow Ragin Rapids Raft ride.

Course Im told it's a Stew Pipeline.

And that makes it likely that the Virginia Reel tilt-a-whirl is the ride to probably make way for the new path.

Or if they move or do an "Extreme Makeover: Holiday World Edition";) of Bamboo Chute they could connect the path to what is now the entry path of Splashin Safari and move the entry to Splashin Safari so that it is off of the newly formed path if they do this.

Both options do indeed make for some interesting possibilities for the park. Here I am just getting excited for a new walkway....LOL! ;) *** Edited 6/30/2005 3:06:03 PM UTC by beast7369***

Given the newest hint about where the entrance to the new land will be and that Bamboo Shoots will require some work I checked the park map online. I think it's safe to say the flyers are NOT in the way of the new entrance. However the Tilt-o-Whirl [aka Virginia Reel] is.

And remember, Sellner makes themed Tilt-o-Whirls ;)

The Walkway's beginning will require the modification...it doesn't say where the end is. It could end up by the Flyers (if they were to do a full loop to help with traffic flow).

True, G.

I agree also but would it really require the removal or moving of the Eagle's Flight flyers to bring in another path over there?
Mamoosh's avatar
Yeah...that's what Redman said.
They could aviod the flyers though, if they were to connect to the path that leads to the picnic grove by the flyers, but it is awfully narrow for what would be a major path. If I remember correctly, the path to the picnic grove is only 6 feet wide (approx). Their main paths are 10-15 ft wide (guess).

I suspect the work on Bamboo Shoots will be more cosmetic than structural. Who wants to look at the backside of a waterslide tower? ;)
Hey Redman,

If they take the path from the Eagles/Picnic Grove down to the new themed area that's kind of steep so I could see them going with just the Virginia Reel-Bamboo Chute path down as it would be easier.

Paul, I was thinking that they'd make a loop out of it rather than have the new themed area as a dead-end.
