"Stealth 1021"

I don't get the Dragster Jr. idea. If I were GM, I'd either want something "interesting" (i.e. more than L-TH-B) or "spectactular" (i.e. the tallest-fastest-whatever). Building an uninteresting layout 100' *shorter* than the current biggest-but-not-best-of-breed seems ill-advised.

I have read somewhere that the track length is around 2400'-2500' ft. I'm just placing my opinion based on that. I don't care if Dragster is the tallest/fastest whatever, it's my summer job there, not my undying desire to promote the place. Maybe it will be taller/faster, more power to Six Flags. A rocket coaster has been popular where they've been put in, and the others don't match the height and speed. I'm not fighting with anyone, I'm just putting down what I'm thinking on here. 2500' isn't very much to work with, unless you scale down Dragster.

Unless this coaster was in the planning stages long before Cedar Point's announement.

I'm not saying it will or won't be taller-faster-whatever, just that most coasters are years in the planning, not a few months.

I personally hope the ride is shorter and more interesting than Dragster, which I rode once and have no real desire to ride again.

WickedMatt - it's been said a few times that the initial "track length" number was not right. Don't base off of that.

Can anyone relate the stats of the formerly rumored "record breaker" rocket at Blackpool or somewhere else in Europe? (yes, it's related ... )

Doesn’t anybody else think that the track length given at the planning board meeting (verbally) was false? There were a couple enthusiasts in the room during this meeting so it could have been purposely altered to confuse everybody.
Sorry if this has already been brought up, but I seem to be counting 13 pieces of launch track in the construction photos. I believe TTD has 13 pieces also (give or take maybe 1), excluding the piece that guides the cables into the hydraulics room, which I didn't see in the GAdv photos.

With the same launch length, it seems like this ride would be right around TTD's height and speed, but it also makes you wonder how the supposed track lenght would be correct with such a long launch.

Edit:Guess I haven't been following this closely enough to realize the track lenght figure was incorrect. In that case, I wouldn't be suprised if this isn't a record breaking L-TH-B. *** Edited 9/15/2004 11:05:01 PM UTC by mantis man***

This ride will be great if it happens there is only one problem. Everyone is hoping for it to be a Dragster or bigger but not to far is a military base where many planes take off from, on one visit i have seen 8 in one day, Nitro might be as high as they can go for saftey reasons, just something I was thinking. *** Edited 9/15/2004 11:19:54 PM UTC by Coasterfreak2***

You do realize that those planes fly about 3000+ feet up. Not 300.

As for TTD, It has 14 launch pieces, This has 13. They are 50 FT sections.

Anyway, We have a possibility of bunny hills now. There are reports that new track has arrived and its curved vertically. Kind of like SROS's bunny hills. Here is the report from GAdvCentral.com...

"September 14, 2004 - Two reports from the site are in. The first is that more track has arrived on site, and that oddly enough some of it appears very different from what we've seen on hydraulic coasters in the past. This track appears to be flat track instead of the usual boxed track, however it us curved so clearly not for the station, brake or transfer tracks. The other item is that a lot of work has been done and that "Saturday will be interesting for the camera happy people"

Big D - I think what you're trying to say is that the track is curved convex [like the top of a hill] rather than concave [like the valley of a drop].

The track for the Top Hat would be curved convex [or "vertically" as you put it]. How do you know its not for that?

I'm not flamming you, just showing there is an alternative explanation.

mOOSH [still probably wrong]

I wouldn't think it would be for the top hat unless they have decided against using box track for that element (and I don't know why they would do so).

Then again, even California Screamin uses triangular track for its bunny hops, so who knows, it could be for anything.

Knotts Halloween Haunt- Everyone has to go sometime....

The track at the apex of the tophat is usually box style, rather than the flat track. Mayhaps some bunny hops are in store....

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Again, I'm very well wrong but if the tower design has changes such that box-type track is not needed that would explain the current pieces showing up.
Well if the top doesn't have box track, then you will see an interesting load of supports at the top...the flat track needs to be supported a heck of a lot more than the box track...but that's kinda common knowledge isn't it ;) my bad...but I doubt we'll see flat track at the top.
Yea, Definatly doubt a flat track tophat. Unless they are planning to make the train crawl over the top and have a speed restriction. Though its hydraulic, So you never know how fast its going to go over the top.

Just got back. HUGE NEWS, AND I MEAN HUGE!. Massive supports have arrived on site, They are black and almost the diameter of TTD's tower. They have footer connectors so they will be for ANOTHER TOWER. They have begun tearing up the lot at the end of the construction site. It looks like they are prepping to put those huge footers in there. So we are looking at 2 tophats! These supports are MASSIVE. Also, They have brought in a few more launch tracks. We now have 15-16 launch tracks, 2 or 3 more than TTD!

Track for the pullout has also arrived. NO FLAT BUNNY HILL TRACK on site, So that was a lie. Anyway, HUGE update coming along with the STEALTH 1021 label. All coming VERY SHORTLY.

It will be available shortly at, www.XtremeCoasters.com

Jus' WONDERIN'.

Mike Miller

OMG, I'm a CreHo.

Check those supports out, Their HUGE, Please if you have any other ideas on what they can be for. Let me know and NO they arent for the current tower because they are black and go into individual footers. The launch is longer than TTD now, About 200 FT longer. We're looking at a beast. Possibly over 500 FT. Also, Overbank supports on site, And definatly look like overbank supports. *** Edited 9/18/2004 12:25:16 AM UTC by Big D***

hootaver. At this point it had better be something big to get me excited. Right now its all about Hydra and Silver Bullet.

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Could we be looking at dueling rockets here? I mean, we have two different colored tracks and two different colored support towers. Just a guess...
Notice how the new launch track that arrived doesn't have spaced for drop dwon brakes. So a part of the launch will not have rollback brakes. Its so long, That its more than enough to stop the train. Also note, The curvature of the pullout and pullup track is less then TTD. Meaning its curved less than TTD. So made for higher speeds without inflicting crasy G's.

Well, We're looking at a record breaker for sure. Possibly with more elements and over 500 FT.

Longer launch by 200 FT, Thicker tower supports, Bigger footers. Extra tower supports. Out of line footers, Huge digging across the construction.
