"Stealth 1021"

According to Big D, who is at the SFGAdv right now, a package slip for their new rocket was found. On the slip, similar to TTD (TTD was "Dragster T-452", am I correct?), the codename for this is stated as "Stealth 1021".

Also, he stated more supports are on site. Overbank turn type supports. More footers have also popped up.

Remember, announcement to come September 16th, this coming thursday!

Sounds exciting...I just hope they are ready for all of the problems that come with really big rocket coasters, though. *** Edited 9/12/2004 8:47:19 PM UTC by CPgenius***

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.
I thought the announcement on the 16th was for SFGam?

Eh, if it is the 16th, i'll be tuned in for sure!

I wonder what else might be tacked onto the name.. bright green/aqua and dark blue/whatever colors dont seem too stealthy to me. =P *** Edited 9/12/2004 8:32:05 PM UTC by MForce2k***

I hate to be a skeptic, but unless something drastic was changed over Dragster (a longer launch track I suppose would be helpful), it's a disaster waiting to happen. On my only trip to the park half of the rides weren't even open. I happen to know that a lot of the maintenance types from SFWoA that were canned are now there too.

I wish them luck, and I'd love to get out there to ride it, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Yea, until I see this thing working I'm not going to get my hopes up to go ride it. Did that already with Top Thrill.

Ummm...I heard from a "reliable" source (Ya know this guy is very "legendary") that it would be on the 28th or 29th (the man still hasn't clarified it for me!)

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Ya know whats bad? I'm more excited about possibly getting to ride Silver Bullet and IJ:ST next year than this. I'm planning a SFGAdv trip for next year, and *even* if it does top dragster in height/speed, if it isn't up when I'm there, I'll not be so disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I loved TTD like a fat kid love cake, and would like one in my back yard, but I think I'm over the bigger/faster thing. I'll let ya know my final analysis if/when I ride it next year:).
There are pics of the new supports over at amusementpics.com
I won't hold my breath for any new Intamin ride. They are all disaters waiting to happen! I hate to say it (especially about my home park) but I am not at all looking forward to this ride. I can see myself visiting a dozen times next season and not getting to ride once. Batman and Robin all over again...
Oh are you KIDDING? Annoucement on the 16th? There's no way I'm gonna get that goat in on time, now I gotta cancel the order. Why can't you people get this right? I'm wasting valuable time I could be spending salivating over pictures of other yet-to-be-built-and-then-break coasters for this ...
Jim, who cares if it's the 16th or the 28th or the 29th? They'll tell you what it is before October, then you can get all excited for a day and then no one will care until it opens 5 months late and then breaks down millions of times, eliciting many complaints from whiny enthusiasts.

Wasn't someone claiming that "overbank supports have arrived" when TTD was being built too? That and that "Dragster T-452" meant it was going to be 452' tall ...

I'd say the only real information here is that the name will probably include the word Stealth somehow, although wouldn't Paramount still own the copyright on a coaster named Stealth? *** Edited 9/13/2004 1:09:39 PM UTC by Impulse-ive***

Impulse...I thought the name was supposed to include "Maxxx" from what I've read elsewhere...Should be an interesting name if they have Stealth as well.

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Perhaps the Maxxx name was trademarked for use on another attraction in the chain?

Keep in mind we still havn't seen what most of the other SF parks have in store for next season & I'm sure we'll be hearing from at least three or four more SF parks as time goes on.

Let me guess, including SFA?

MAXX was taken wayy out of proportion. They could have registered that for anything. Now we have pretty solid proof. The codename that Intamin provides never lies.

Oh really? So you're sure there will be "Stealth" somewhere in the name? Interesting!

Joe, skeptical

PS Big Jim, the announcement is between Sept 14 and Sept 30. This is fact! :P

OMG I have a new sig!!!
Wasn't the "codename" for Millennium Force "Giga-XYZ" (XYZ being a number for those of you who aren't too up on their algebra)? That wasn't very informative.

I'm not SURE of anything, I am sure that it is the codename. Wether or not it will be part of the name, We will have to find out. All i know is that TTD's was,

T-452 - Dragster C

So It might be part of the name, It might not. Who knows.

Here are the pics, There is a pic of the overbank support and the package with the label. You cannot make the label out because, The picture quality is very poor taken from a cell phone. I have pointed out the overbank support that has been capped off. You can see that pretty clear. Also, If anybody wants to check out the pictures of the concert...Just visit that folder.

I can't imagine SF using codenames. Its probably just "Great Adventure coaster" or something like that.

If you take a look at this photo of Dragster it seems to me like the support BigD thinks is for an overbank is probably for the twist on the ascent or descent from the tower.

mOOSH

Exactly - TTD has caps up and down it's entire tower. Until you can show me footers somewhere other than in two parallel lines and that tripod back by RT, all of which I've seen with me own two eyeballs, it's a L-TH-B...

... or we could all wait 3, 14 or 15 more days ;)
