Everyone keeps saying the double down gives so much air but I barely got any when I rode.
I'd venture to say that Phantom's Revenge will never leave my top ten, as long as they keep it in good shape.
...and that list includes S:ROS at SFNE and Magnum.
The only downside to the whole ride is that it's just too short. :)
I'm not saying it was a bad ride. It was certainly fun. I will agree that it was WAY too short. It provided some nice floater air for me but nothing too extreme. Maybe my opinion is the way it is because of the hype surrounding the ride. I just came off disappointed. I expected more.
Another thing is that we only rode in the early morning. Later we tried to ride and it was closed. That morning it was very cold. I'm sure that could have affected the ride.
As far as S:ROS, I would have to disagree LG. To date that ride has given the most extreme ejector air time I've ever experienced on any coaster.

By some rough calculations, I'm getting that the lift hill is approx. 40 degrees from horizontal, which is without question steeper than the standard lift angle of closer to 26 degrees (2:1 slope).

Look at Silver Star's lift hill, I that best represents what it should be like in the end. Interestingly enough, the support collumns on Silver Star are of the same design as the one's on SFOG's Goliath (sort of like a |\ shape), whereas the other lifts all share another design (more of a /\ shape). I wonder if that's a coindidence or not.
But yes in short form it is steeper than most hyper lifts.

<--who says nothing is more blissful than 3 consecutive back seat rides on PR in the cool, clear, October weather at night. :-P

Has anyone been to the Six Flags site lately? They have images of "Goliath". They are of course pictures of Nitro but SF took the time to edit the photos so they had Goliaths color scheme. It's nice!
This one is my favorite:

The rest are on the right side of the page. There are four altogether:
