SFoG Goliath Construction Update

Some nice photos on a beautiful day inside the park:

Wow, I didn't know they were still using Chang as the pick for Scorcher!

But anyway, this coaster is going up rather fast. Looks very promising.

Six Flags is a Diamond in the rough!
Six Flags Fiesta Texas uses a color edited version of Medusa (NJ) for Superman.

More here: http://photobucket.com/albums/c369/goliathconstruction/ and these are mine. A lot of the same, but at a higher resolution.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
Hm, sounds like a bit of criticism deep down. Do people prefer larger images? I've always got low-band users in mind (as well as my bandwidth bill!) and try to limit the size of the pages, but are higher quality images what the people want?
Yeah, we want those unpainted - (grey? they must be kidding!) - rails in full resolution!
:)

(:

(sorry I couldn't stop it)

I don't think he was trying to be critical.

Down is the new up.
^ I think so too.
@Jopish: Anyone who cares to make coaster pics and puts them on the web for your enthusiast colleagues to see is a hero. I don't think we should get into another one of those "does size matter" competitions here.

In preperation for the "topping off" ceremony later this month, the last support for the lift has been installed. Updates here!

And at 200 feet Goliath is topped off on Friday evening.

After passing by the park a few days ago and seeing it up close, the ride looks real nice in its location. The lift just seems to tower over the scorcher and the part of the park it goes over.

Hopefully Goliath proves to be an exceptional ride when it opens next season.

Does anyone else feel like this park is sooooo overdue for this coaster? I think this everytime I see new pics. *** Edited 11/12/2005 4:45:08 PM UTC by Krypton***

*Raises hand* But I'm not really complaining. If we're overdue, it's only by a year or so. Nothing too great.

To me it's right "on track" for when SFOG needed a new coaster. Personally I think last year they definitely needed the new flats and the kiddie coaster more than Goliath. They could still use some more flats IMO. It's looking GOOD!

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!

SfoG got a *really cool* kiddie coaster, and located it perfectly.

Sweet! :)

More parks could use something to get the little ones hooked on the hobby! ;)

But wait, that's what Goliath is for... :)

That's why the kids have us, and so their parents can make fun of us when we ask to borrow their kids for a credit. :-P

Another piece was installed today for those of you who don't know already.

I am guessing that they will finish the drop by either thursday or friday because they don't need to move the big crane until they get to the second hill, and there were reports of cement trucks near the Deer Park Plunge on season pass day, so I am asuming that those footers are most likely done. We will all have to see...

SFOG new coaster. YAY
wow, thats thats a step hill
This looks like it will be an awesome ride! I can't wait till my April Trip to SFoG and Dollywood. It will be something else to see Goliath driving up to the park, commanding your attention (Hypers have a tenoncy to do that to me).

25 Parks..............
123 Coasters........
....and still going!

Imagine the Crystal Beach Cyclone with a Gerstlauer train

Okay, so the park FINALLY updated the website with more construction shots. Looks as though the first drop in complete, and it is quite a steep one at that. Pics here.
