SFoG Goliath Construction Update

Those "retarded dips" are great, and make for some nice ejector airtime in the back rows.

All B&M coasters had the dip's before the first drop up until the year 2000 I believe. I think they had something to do with the chain being dis-engaged, but im not sure.

That's for sure. Raging Bull backseat is pure bliss.

^Totally!
The newer B&M's could benefit from that little kicker dip. :)

Umm, ok! I just thought it was a signiture thing by B&M but I guess I can see the point. Another coaster I noticed it on was the Georgia Scorcher and that I have riden and it doesn't create that exciting air time plummet that a hyper could potentially deliver.

This Goliath coaster is going to be the coolest dose of eye candy for the park . I like how it dominates the skyline and will no doubt create buzz to guest before you even enter the park. All I can say is awesome placement!

Six Flags is a Diamond in the rough!
I love Scorchers first drop. Airtime on a standup is pretty cool. I wont discuss GS though because we all already know the quality experience of the ride.

That being said,

Goliath looks amazing. Those bunnies look like theyre gonna be fun as hell. And the ride definitely just completely changes the SFoG skyline. All I have to say is I have been waiting for 5 long years for any park in the Southeast to get a hyper and its finally here!

SFoG you rock.

You must have been riding in the front. Scorcher's first drop from the back is one of my favorite drops of all time. Probably second overall, actually.

Also, Goliath is currently running through heavy testing. It is rumored that the B&M Execs have ridden the ride already. Media day is the 30th.

Welcome back, red train, how was your ride?!
I don't know if you all had heard or not, but Six Flags is looking for famous Dave-lookalikes. It is a great opportunity to be one of the first riders of Goliath and since this entire post is dedicated to Goliath's construction and excitement, it may be something that will interest you all. Also, Six Flags is auctioning off seats on Goliath to benefit charities

Nonetheless, I'll be at Spring Fling...Goliath looks sweetly reminiscent of the airtime hills on Apollo...maybe we can even get the brakes turned WAY down... ;)

After seeing it in action, I actually think it is more like a Ride of Steel (take your pick) than an Apollo's or Nitro. It was really flying the other day. The trim was off, but I don't really think it will make much of a difference even if it IS on.

I have a couple of photos for y'alls enjoyment. I can only take credit for the 2nd one though.

Did it seem quiet to you too, Jophish?

Did they have it loaded with the test dummies when you saw it? *** Edited 3/20/2006 12:01:23 AM UTC by Raptor Pilot***

Hopefully it will ride like a ROS. :)

Although the ride looks interesting, I am not looking forward to fighting the crowds. I'm glad they are opening Goliath during spring break so there will be that many more people to deal with. Talk about long lines. *** Edited 3/20/2006 6:10:44 PM UTC by coasterkitty***
