SFA 2006??

I'll find out on next weekend's trip.

Finally I've got my new PC & everything works great so far.

Well, if we're lucky, we'll get some hints before the end of the season. If you remember correctly, last year they had the hints on the website and a banner on the gate to the then named Paradise Island that said things like "Next year will be BIGGER and WETTER than ever" and "Hurricane Forcast for 2005." I'd like to hope they will do something similar for whatever, if anything, we will get in 2006.

Personally, I feel there's a lot that the park could do in 2006. There is no doubt in my mind that Hurricane Harbor was one of, if not the best additions the park has made since it was converted to a Six Flags park. Every time I've been in the waterpark, weekday or weekend, the lines have been long, the lawn chairs have been full, and the waterparks been just plain full, even when the rest of the park has been less full. The success of the waterpark surely has significantly increased the attendance of the park as a whole. However, I don't think the waterpark has reached its fullest potential. As far as waterparks go, it is still relatively small. With 2005's success, I'd say another addition to the waterpark in the coming years is highly possible. Expanding the waterpark behind the wavepool with another slide tower or two as well as renovating the lazy river would make for a wonderful "Phase II."

As for the main park, I've always said that they need to complete the loop from Batwing to Mind Eraser to really "complete" the park. In my eyes, until this path is complete, the park will ALWAYS feel unfinished. Completing this path with a new coaster would be a big help, but if they build this path and a coaster, then they NEED to build some flats in there too. I mean, I love coasters and all, but that path with just a coaster would mean that along the path from Mind Eraser to Superman, there would only be coasters (not that that's a bad thing).

What I want is something reliable. I'm tired of Batwing and TSC and their constant problems. Give me a new ride that will open on time and stay open. Give me a custom mine train, or a big floorless coaster, or just a sit down looping coaster (B&M). As much as I'd like a Rocket or a 4-D, I don't want to put up with the constant break downs.

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

I can honestly tell you that they will be getting rollercoasters.A very good source told me this.

Are you still believing that SFA will be getting three coasters for next year? Remind me again as to what they are supposed to be. It was going to be a rocket coaster taller than Kingda Ka, an impulse, and a water coaster, right?

I'm not trying to be mean, but I am trying to pound some common sense into your head. Let it go, SFA will NOT be getting everything that you think they will be getting. I'll even go so far as to say that they'll NEVER get a rocket taller than KK.

Yeah is Good!
If I'm not mistaken, she said it was a rocket 500' tall.

I wouldn't mind a impulse, especially after we rode the one at SFGam. :) *** Edited 7/30/2005 4:41:32 PM UTC by coasterguts***

A day at the park is what you make it!

I agree B&M's the way to go instead of Intamin, vekoma or Arrow/S&S.
So you liked V2? They are definately fun rides, but it seems like the Impulse craze has subsided over the past few years. I hope to see a few more pop up, but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah is Good!
SFA would be a great candidate for an impulse as there are no east coast parks that have one, only thing is the park really doesn't need a second shuttle coaster when it already has an invertigo.
Yeah, I would ride V2 again and Deja Vu' for that matter. I don't think either of us were expecting the great ride we had on Deja Vu'. I'm not sure why more parks haven't picked up the Impulse coasters. I would think smaller parks looking for a small attraction would be interested in the Impulse coasters. I would consider them over a Vekoma Boomerang or Invertigo any day.

I agree BWFSA, Two Face is already to small for SFA. I also think Intamins are fairly reliable (perhaps not as reliable as B&M), just not in the hands of some parks.

I think the $8.5 million price tag has something to do with the lack of Impulses in the smaller parks. Pretty pricey for a small coaster.

Yeah is Good!
Oh! That is pretty pricey. Also pricey for the big parks since it really doesn't help with the need for larger capacity attractions.

A day at the park is what you make it!

I'll still stand by my word on 3 coasters. :) I don't really care if you don't believe me. Maybe not as tall as kk if they can't get the approval, but maybe something like storm runner. Maybe that will get some sense into your heads. ;) *** Edited 7/31/2005 7:58:34 PM UTC by coasterniece***

CP was amazing, going back next June to ride Maverick

I think you have SFA confused with Six Flags Great America.

It's good that you have hope...but we have to stick to the reality, and the reality is, is that we would have to go a year or two without any new additions to afford three coasters premiering at the same time..

Dude...the park doesn't consider ANYTHING! Whatever they're getting in 2006, if anything, the decision comes from corporate.

Actually when I worked at Six Flags over Georgia in 1995, we were surveyed the last day of the season on what type of coaster we would like to see built for 97. I remember a picture of Batman at SFGAM, Superman at SFMM, this ride called Hangman at some tennese park, and a boomerang coaster like the one at Knott's berry farm, these were the ride types that I remember being considered. From that list Batman was Erected. So even though the coorparte actually make the final say so on what coaster gets built, the in house park employees actually get to be in on it and suggest future attractions like we did. I personally picked the Superman type coaster, I don't know if this is still being conducted today, although it would be cool. *** Edited 8/1/2005 1:29:30 AM UTC by Magicmike***

Six Flags is a Diamond in the rough!
No, i'm not confused. I have talked with many park employees, who have all said the same thing. :)

I think a big change did happen.... Time Warner sold Six Flags to Premier Parks.

A day at the park is what you make it!

What's that got to do with what I said? (I said that in a friendly non hostile tone)

Six Flags is a Diamond in the rough!
I was pointing out Time Warner sold the parks and a philosphy change was probably implemented where Premier didn't want the input of park employees anymore.

A day at the park is what you make it!

My sister works at Six Flags, and even though she's in the food department, she has a lot of friends that work the rides..the employees definitely don't have any input on anything concerning future rides, except who will be appointed to operate them. That's it. It stops there. Six Flags America has too many minors employed there at the park for a ballot to be taken. Most of them aren't even eligible to vote...period. Most of the Six Flags Employees are under 18. So therefore, they have no input..at all. I know that for a fact.
Man I've been away from the site for too long....it seems Coasterniece is trying to upstage me here.

Even I know there's no chance in hell that SFA would add 3 coasters in one season (we'll be lucky if we even get just one) & forget about a KK sized rocket coming to the park when their maximum height limit is 200 ft.
