Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 publisher Infogrames today posted shots of the forthcoming game in conjunction with the E3 show, going on now in Los Angeles. The shots include Intamin box track, Arrow 4D, Giovanola hypers, new theme elements and scenario editing.

See the screen shots from Infogrames.

Oh yea, i wonder if the cable on the Intamin Giga will break down everyday? LOL being a season pass holder to CP Ive been there 4 times since the opening and its broke down or been down each time. Although yesterday it stopped at the top for about 5 minutes, they pushed it over and didnt run any tests, just kept it going. Hopefully its worked out most of the bugs.

I am also disappointed as to why Six Flags gets the big nod? Sure they have more parks....but nearly every good type of coaster out there was pioneered by CP saying, "We want something new, and it better be awesome" And B&M, Intamin and Arrows always delivered. Ill give SF props for having so much money and have lots of riudes....but when it comes to quality of rides...well check out the top 10 in coasters...Mil Force #1, Magnum #3, Raptor was the first of its kind and its still top 10 i believe. Shows that just cause its the biggest and tallest doesnt mean its the most fun...

Oh yea, wickedtwisted, LOL nice signiture!! WT ROCKS!!! back seat all the way!

Graphics: First off, I read in an E3 report at gamesdomain.com that the resolution is now 1024 x 768 as opposed to the 640 x480 of the original. Right there you're going to see some crispness. Phyter - you say that now 1 GHz processors are entry level... You're assuming everyone has a newer computer. I bought mine 4 years ago and I have a 433 MHz processor. RCT is a family game and families don't upgrade on a regular basis to stay current because it's too expensive. Also, graphics do not improve gameplay. As a matter of a fact, in some cases its just the opposite. Using the Final Fantasy example - Most veteran RPG gamers will readily tell you that Final Fantasies 4-6 were hands down the best of the series. They didn't have better graphics. As a matter of a fact, one of the major complaints with the newer games in the series is that the graphics are so good that it's easy to loose the character in the backdrop and that it's hard to see items because they don't stand out as they used to.

Regarding the use of Six Flags - I know Infogames/RCT is a sponsor at Six Flags Great America and I'm assuming some other parks also (Iron Wolf is the ride, if I remember correctly). They probably struck a deal. I really hope SFGAm is one of the parks in the game. My guess for the five is: Magic Mountain, Great America, Great Adventure, SF over Texas, SF over Georgia since those five are longtime Six Flags parks (and I think are all premier parks). Plus their being scattered all over the country would mean that there would be a park featured that's within driving distance of most states.

Has anyone noticed(sorry for talking about parking lots)in the Goliath screenshot, theres a parking lot behind the fence. Also in a screenshot with the menu i noticed that build rides and add cars to rides(different ones) is on the same menu.Anyway,it said trams(and was not labeled as a vehicle)so maybe there will be parking lots with trams.

It dosen't look like you change park entrance style either(i was wanting that).I did notice some new stalls though. And a good number of new roller coasters(or cars for them anyway).

That E3 report about resolution (I think it was from IGN) was wrong. The original game had full-screen settings of 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768 and a windowed mode that did anything (I run it at 1280x1024).

For everyone who is complaining, would you rather them not make any sequel at all? I think that if this game sells well, then they will make expansion packs for it. I think if thopse sell well then they'll make an RCT3. But how many of us here think it's right to judge the game before it comes out. That was like 10 screenshots. Not enough to judge it. It could turn out to be a huge flop and it might, but the way Chris Sawyer has done with the regular RCT, I don't think it will. I do admit the X recreation looks sloppy but I think that if you wanted to make another 4D, it would probably look better.

Anyways, if Chris Sawyer put in every little thing that we wanted, then the game would probably just get boring. I mean, the other expansion packs have been out a while and they are getting really boring. If we added some more thing, then we all have something to wait for, and something to keep us buying all the games. I guess what I'm trying to say is that wee shouldn't judge a book by its cover and we need to wait until October to judge the game by our personal opinion, not what we look at on a screenshot.

I guarantee that this game will hit the top of the charts and stay there. RCT stayed there, along with the expansion packs because the game didn't require a large processor and it was easy enough to use. If the Sims is any indication of "if it aint broke..." then RCT2 will be a great success.

I'm quite glad that there isn't a 24 bit engine because my 5 year old [family] computer couldn't handle it. The fact that it doesn't require a large processor makes the game have a larger target audience. Graphics don't make the game, gameplay does. If you're sick of the gameplay, don't buy it. Quit complaining. I love the improvements so far, I think the attention to detail so far is great. I'm sure we will given more spoilers as the release date gets closer, and the game is actually finished!

Why would it take 2 years? If you worked on a project by yourself developing the game that has some obvious changes from the original, wouldn't it take you a long time?

Think they'll let me drive the Zamboni machine?

What the heck happened to the site? I wanted those pics!!!!! Is there a mirror site i can go to?
I think that the new changes are fantastic. I think it's important for those posting about the "realistic" or "not realistic" changes to keep in mind that RCT was meant to be a cartoon-like mockup of a real world themepark. The changes that lead to more realisim are great but must be measured against the bounds of practicality for the purposes of gameplay. I am an oldschool computer game player and I can tell you that the days of the original computer game (ie. ZORK, infocom) didn't have ANY graphics. The graphical element was in your imagination and that is a BIG part of RCT. It's graphics are meant as a familiar representation of the real world... impressionist if you will. The GAMEPLAY is all important and RCT has the best gameplay element i've ever seen of any contemporary computer game...period. So, it would be a complete failure on Chris Sawyer's part to rewrite the entire structure/interface of the game to satisfy a disjointed "realism" element such as a 3D view from the peeps perspective. Believe me, when I see one of the trains, full of little computer peeps, crest the lift hill on a coaster that I have created, I can clearly see and feel the excitement that little peep represents. The graphic is a "representation" NOT a "recreation" of the excitement we have all felt (at least those of us who are real world coaster riders) when preparing to plumet down that first hill. I feel that excitement EVERY TIME I play RCT and now that there is a chance to experience even more of that feeling induced by new graphics, choices, colors, etc. I can only feel that old familiar lump of excitement in my throat just like the one I got when I ran the original RCT Demo version prior to it's release. Finally, I thought, someone has created the perfect game and it feels like it's just for me. Bring on RCT2!!!

yeah this game looks interesting but i would have liked to see a better engine running the game. hey, is it just me or does anyone else really want to see themeing and ride building that is similar, if not the same, to disneyland? i mean if you've ever been there it's really fun. and the rides obviously had just tons and tons of imagination poored into, onto, and all over them. please let me know if anyone else feels this way.
