Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 screen shots posted by Infogrames

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 publisher Infogrames today posted shots of the forthcoming game in conjunction with the E3 show, going on now in Los Angeles. The shots include Intamin box track, Arrow 4D, Giovanola hypers, new theme elements and scenario editing.

See the screen shots from Infogrames.

I noticed stairs up both sides of X. Does anyone know or think they will be added to the other coasters. The pictures don't have it. Also, the transfer track you guys are talking about, is it on goliath. If this is it, do you think it will be able to be used or is it for looks like we have to do now
Millenium rider!

I totally agree with you on the CP thing... I wish the game wasn't so "Six flags sell out mania". I mean, I love six flags, but Maybe they could get a wide diversity of parks in there instead of parks from one chain

Ya, They need like one or two from six flags, one or two from paramount, one or two from cedar fair, and one or two seperate parks like holiday world

RCT2 will be compatible with windows xp right?

It's all about who bought up sponsership rights. I would have liked to see Silver Dollar City in there.

Folks, stop asking "does anyone know." Nobody knows but Infogrames and Chris Sawyer.

So what? They have Six Flags parks!? No offense to Sawyer, but usually his aren't that great. Look at his Alton Towers, Blackpool, and that other park (can't think of it) compared to others that players have made. Most of the players version are much better and more detailed. Why make a big deal about it? At least he is getting sponsor, no matter who it is!! Good job Six Flags for sponsoring this great game (seriously)!
Looking at the screenshot with the list of attractions there is a ride called Twist...
Did anyone see the red side-less trains on the blue coaster in the right hand top corner like colossus wow what a great game !!!!!!! 10/10
I can probably see a few expansions in the works for RCT2. In this one SF parks will be featured, next up will be Paramount parks and finally Cedar fair. Now those would be great idea's on how to do the future RCT2 expansions that we all know will certainly follow in the footsteps of this game.
Ok let's play guessing game as to new flat rides

If the six flags recreations are accurate and we know there is a Magic Mountain recreation then possible rides include

old style freefall bayerne curve sky coaster the two flats in gotham city childrens rides and swings

This all depends on accuracy of course maybe we will get lucky and get these and some others I really want flat rides as I am tired of trying to figure out how to build the same few rides in different parks and make them special

also if the Riddler's Revenge is accurate we may be getting that large half corkscrew we need to make dive loops that look realistic

So, I think the game looks just like the original. It seems to give the player more freedom in creating the rides, but other than that, the additions do not impress me. I don't like how unrealistic some of the rides look. It would be easy to fix I'm sure, but Goliath looks really ugly. For one thing, the crossties are too wide and too frequent on the track, plus the trains' wheels fit to the inside of the track, instead of the outside. This would mean they'd hit the crossties, that would be pretty bumpy considering there's a crosstie every few inches. Seriously, the airtime hill on Goliath looks like a turn at the crest. What is that all about? Goliath's hill does not turn until it is approaching the helix. All in all, I'm throughly not impressed.
Will you all stop moaning. If you really think it is that bad don't buy it but i think you are going to be missing out on a really good game. I'll admit the graphics could look better, but how do you know they aren't going to be improved in the four months that we've got till it comes out. It hasn't been finished yet so there is still time for improvements.

Anyway i think it looks really good. My only complaint would be the reconstruction of X. I was hoping for an Arrow equivalent of the large half loop, but this will hopefully be improved.

One thing i was wondering was whether Flashback will be it's own type of rollercoaster. Otherwise i was wondering how you would make the hairpin drops.

Also, to make it really realistic, do you think deja-vu only open once a week because it keeps valleying? I think realistic problems like that would be good for the game.

I noticed on the log flume there are more realistic numbers of boats, rather than just twelve.

Anyway, the new NoFX album came out three days ago and i finally got it!!!!!! --- Just thought you'd like to know.

This game looks awesome and i can't wait to get it the graphicsand gameplay look better than ever.

As for the flat rides, we can only hope there are a lot more.

A "Twist" is a Scrambled Eggs ride in the international version. The Gravitron is also called a Top Spin.

Bake 'em away toys.

At least Deja-vu will work properly in this game, too bad it doesn't in reality,If they are going for accuracy then does it mean we might be able to do diagonally placed loops?we all know that DV's loop is diagonally placed above the station.
This was in a post, but, someone said there were trams?Did anybody see a parking lot or a tram?I wonder if you can have shows hmmm.......

I think there are enough improvements/additions to the new RCT2 game that even those who are squawking here are gonna buy it. I don't think it looks that great but you can bet I'll be taking out whoever is trying to snag the last one at Best Buy so I can buy it.

I do agree with a few of you, though, the screen shots are terrible. My GRANDMOTHER could have designed a better park than whoever did these. The Arrow 4D looks pretty weak, too. The support structures from the original series really left a lot to be desired as well. Come on, if you are going to add a blessed ATM MACHINE you can at least change the support structures to look semi-real. Also, someone made a suggestion on this site a while ago that the train should have a crossing gate at path intersections. This is a great suggestion - I wonder if it's included..... Nonetheless, it will give us some new scenarios to try out instead of all those bogus volcano/glacier/desert scenarios included in the last one (I guess they didn't call it Loopy Landscapes for nothing). Come on, Chris, get with the real world.

Oh well, I guess we'll just have to buy the game, play it, and then complain to whoever will listen. There are worse things in life I guess.

Curtman the tram is shown in one of the screenshots and is a small trolley car running on the miniature railroad,I guess it's a new ride vehicle option for that attraction.
I would have liked to have seen a way to manually edit the angle of the turns. We still wont be able to do anything like the Millenium force it looks like, with 122 degrees of banking. Which disappoints me. I think it would be easy to just have a up and down arrow where you could increase and then decrease the angle, maybe in degrees of 5 or 10 would be awesome. I think it would add a ton to the originality of the coasters. Oh well, still drolling over what we will have...now lets see if its really released in the 4th quarter of the year....
