Progress Reports and Accomplishments

AAAing even a light song is nearly impossible, yet I have videos of people doing just that on Max 300, Bag, Sakura and other 10-foot songs. So even us folk who can pass most if not all of the 9-footers (and even A most of them ;)) are not that great in the scheme of things....

In case anyone's curious, I *did* get in a game at Cedar Point on Saturday night. It was about 11:30 p.m., there was no one around, but as soon as I started my first song, I suddenly had a crowd of about 20 people. (I love CP). I stuck with my predetermined set that I listed above. ;) Nearly FC'ed CSFILSM, though it was a great attack. :)

Oh my! Looks like we've apparently got a major addiction problem:

Funny, I AM a mother who was turned onto DDR by my teenage son. Oh the horror!!

Hey, did I not admit to being an attention whore somewhere on this board? Y'all are just jealous of my 1337 skillz. ;)

I'm definitely addicted. In fact I'm going to hit up GameWorks this Saturday morning when there's no one playing... must.. hog... machine. Anyone want to join me? Kel, flights are cheap into Port Columbus! ;)

You have a wife, right? Does she get to see you very often? ;)

Even Steph and I get a little crowd at Cedar Point, and we're only 6-foot players. You're not that special!

I do have a wife, and actually I only go out to play DDR when she has other plans.... i.e. she has a work conference this Saturday, that's why I'm going to GameWorks.

~~whip crack~~

Yeah, I know. But she is getting a lot better and can do up to 6-foot standard songs now at home. She's obsessed with Dream a Dream and Conga Feeling. So maybe I'll get her into the arcade someday. :)

I remember when I started out on a crappy 2nd Mix and at a family fun center and me and my friends drew monstrous crowds. These people had never seen DDR before and were *wowed* by songs like Dub-I-Dub, Strictly Business and Stomp to my Beat on light. And if you really wanted to stun them, whip out some Paranoia on light.

The people at the arcade I go to now are a little harder to impress. It's probably because most of the players that go there are usually A'ing songs like Paranoia Survivor Max and Legend of Max. I'm NOT one of them, of course..

You guys don't like freestylers? Aw, that's messed up...what's with all the hatin'?

The only time I really wowed a guy was on Paranoia Evolution doubles... light mode. The guy was in awe, which seemed pretty silly since the guy had no problem beating 8 and 9 foot singles.

I'm pretty impressed with Doubles simply because for the life of me I just can't get the hang of them. I think Doubles are way more fun than Singles, but the hardest Double I can do is Matsuri Japan light, and most of the time I barely pass it.

It's funny because althought I can't do doubles on DDR, I'm pretty good at Doubles on Dance Maniax. But that's probably because the gameplay on Dance Maniax is so much simpler.

I've been able to beat most any song in doubles light, though maybe not the first try. Standard it just depends. I find the foot ratings to be almost irrelevant in doubles.

I really should play doubles more. I always play one or two games whenever I go to an arcade, but it's frustrating to be forced back down to 6-foot light songs when you're used to 9-footers. Also, I don't know the step charts, so I never know what I'm gonna get...

Nevertheless, Afronova light doubles is insanely fun, especially jumping from pad to pad at the beginning and running across them with the triplets at the end. Some of the other doubles step charts I've really liked are Burning Heat and Brilliant2U Orchestra Groove.

Kel - the reason I hate freestyling is that when people do it, they always play the easiest songs on light. If you're going to do that, you might as well just dance on the floor... it takes all the "game" out of it. Not to mention, freestylers usually play the same songs over and over, because they only have a few "routines."

Yeah i should try doubles also, but right now, i'm learning how to read 'reverse'. I'm not too bad, about 7ft range.

Ahh, yeah i see your reasong for disliking freestylers, but my Let the Beat hit em is on heavy, but true, it's only 1 of a very few that i have. Maybe i'm just way more PA than FS. *shrugs*

Hey Jeff, before i do this i wanted to run it by you: is it ok, if i post a link to a page in my MB containg a list of the 9fters and the grades i've gotten on them? I didn't wanna to put the whole list here because it's about 57 songs and i thought it might take up too much space. Or if i can't actually post the link here, maybe put it inmy sog or something?
