Progress Reports and Accomplishments

I doubled my arcade AA count, from 20 to 40 this morning. My goal is 100 now.

Ooh, I got a super cool acomplishment...

Two Full combo 9 footers: Tsugaru and Paranoia KCET. It wouldn't have been an arcade AA on either one, but FC Tsugaru? Yay!

If Sandstorm was on an arcade mix, then I could go out and AA that one, because I got only 13 greats.

I now have about 18 Home AA's.

Awesome accomplishments, but... you probably would not be able to get 13 greats on Sandstorm if it was in the arcade. The timing window is so much smaller.

Lemme put it this way: On the home games, I have more than 30 single-digit greats. At the arcade, my best great count ever is 11 (and that was on Cutie Chaser Morning Mix, one of the easiest songs of all time).

Wait Sandstorm by Darude is on DDR????? Which mix, I was just thinking of how sweet that song would be on DDR.

I played at the local mall arcade a week or two ago, and found some surprises:

1) There are now 3 Extreme Machines sitting right next to each other (up from 2), all 75 cents each.
2) There is now a Beatmania machine there. Only 50 cents to start, 25 cents to continue if you failed.

Needless to say, my curiosity got me and I spent a few dollars more on BM than DDR... I still suck at it, though :P

Anyways, while I was playing DDR, I finally passed Twin Bee on Heavy. Before I kept losing the beat around the time in the song where it "changes" beat. But I've conquered it :)

Oh, and I must be improving - I was there just a day or two before a tournament there, when some other guys were playing on the machine next to me asked if I were joining... They said I should join the "Heavyweight" division. :)

Tommy P.

Twinbee changes beat? It stays the same tempo the whole time... are you talking about the weird triplets right at the end?

I think Millennium Rider means the middle of the song, where the gallops come in, and those couple of 12ths. The tempo of the song doesn't change, but the rhythm is a bit weird there.

Nice job to everyone ^^

yeah i still step on those stupid arrows... ...so what? >_>
New stuff from Kel:

Ok, today i think i've gone one more step up the long ladder of DDRtism (=P) by AAing two songs i didn't think i would AA anytime soon.

1st up is The Least 100Sec. Full Comboed with 30 something greats. I completely skipped an 'A' grade on this song since all i've managed to get were B's. I guess i was just feelin' the rhythm.

Next up, and the one i'm most proud of is Sakura. Call it an 'easy 10', call it luck, or call it a fluke...but dammit with 40 something greats and 2 goods...i've AA'd my first 10fter and i couldn't be prouder. :)

I know i'm able to full combo it except for 1 arrow...it's not the 14bmp arrow either, it's one a little ways after that (before the 320bpm half of the song) I ALWAYS miss that arrow. EVERY TIME without fail and i end up with a 23 combo going into the 320bpm part of the song and it irks me. lol But i'm in no position to complain at all...i'm a happy camper right now.

Two major accomplishments from me,
First arcade AA: Burnin' the Floor (Momo Mix)

And the biggest one of them all...
The legend of Max, B.

Well, this thread needs saving from the pit of doom, so I'll update to say where I'm at.

I got to an arcade last Friday with an Extreme Machine, and passed my first Ten Footer, Bag,and failed on the last run of Sakura, because I didn't know the song. I completely failed Cartoon Heroes. That song is pure Evil. I'm actually glad we don't have that on the home mix, because It really isn't much fun to play, just difficult. I didn't get any AA's either, but I did FC Stoic.

I got Extreme on Sunday, and I must say, I like it. Mission Mode is HARD though. I probably won't ever beat that. It is a fairly easy mix, but it does have it's difficult moments, like Paranoia Eternal(gah, so offbeat), LOM, and A challenge.I love the new Interface, and the Songwheel, but I don't like the loss of the Feet, and I do wish Sakura was on this Mix, since it's so awesome, and Fun.

Home AA's-39

Today I've been playing Maxx Unlimited way too much, and I just now, 2 minutes ago, got to the VERY LAST RUN before I failed, so I'll keep you posted as to if I beat that.

Two minutes ago? LOL, and you ran to your computer to report the results? Are you still out of breath? :)

I know i'd be...lol 2 minutes ago i probably would've still been sprawled all over the stage. ;)

Nothing new to report, but i did FC so deep with 35 greats. And nearly AA'd Leading Cyber.

EDIT: I almost forgot! FC CSFiLSM with 15 greats. =D i knew i did something noteworthy within the last day... *** Edited 10/12/2004 10:48:02 PM UTC by Kel***

I just AAA'd Bag on 1x heavy. No j/k that song looks impossible, but I saw someone do it. But yeah I did maxx unlimited on Heavy today. So w00t for me.

I was looking through the last three pages, but did people miss this post? Super Congratulations on bag man. A AAA on that song blows my mind. And you passed Maxx Unlimited without anybody on this board noticing.

*claps*

Thanks but I was just kidding about bag, but I did pass maxx unlimited. Thanks though

Aww, I've been Duped.

Well, I still applaud you for passing Maxx Unlimited after playing for what, four months? That's insane.

And there it is, I passed......

Maxx Unlimited! w00t!

And if I get good enough on it by Saturday, I get to pass it on an Arcade Machine at Six Flags.

Edit:Holy Crap-I switched disks over to Max to try to beat Max 300 in case I was having a good day, and I passed it.

Good luck in the arcade. I've passed Max 300 many times (and Maxx Unlimited once) at home, but never in the arcade. I don't know why, I just have less stamina there. Even with easier songs... i.e., at home I can full-combo CSFILSM without breaking a sweat, but at the arcade, I feel my legs growing weaker about 3/4 of the way through, and I'm panting at the end.

I guess it's because I stomp harder at the arcade.

Anyway - word of advice that Kel gave me months ago: Play the 10-footers on your first song. The lifebar is more forgiving on your first song than on the others.
