The people there were awesome and fun though, pretty much all on the same level as me, and they can all play doubles decently, which was way cool. And the place was awesome too, best use of a small space I've ever seen.
I think they're getting new pads or sensors soon, and begin holding tournaments soon, which will be interesting.
And one accomplishment: 321 Stars Doubles Heavy A on their pads. *** Edited 11/7/2004 5:50:56 AM UTC by thepinkdoomofmonkeys***
I remember i had a disposable camera lying around so i decided to take some pics of some notable accomplishments. When it's all developed and scanned i'll post them up. =)
Congrats on your accomplishment, because an AAA is very hard to get in any circumstances. However, you need to make a distinction between home AAAs and arcade AAAs. Getting an AAA in the arcade is 10 times harder.
I think I said this before, but I have about a zillion single-digit greats at home, but ZERO at the arcade. (I got 11 on Higher Next Morning Mix, it's my best arcade score).
Next up: Funk Boogie(3 greats) or Trip Machine(6 greats).
And I think the secret to arcade AAA'ing is to move as little as possible, but still stomp on the arrows hard enough to where they are very audible. All the vids of people AAA'ing stuff are played like that.
AA:1998-My first Arcade AA.:)
B:Sakura
B:Bag 1.5 speed-Got about Halfway through on 1x.
A:Tsugaru
A:Heaven is a 57...-Fun Song
A:Frozen Ray
A:Daikenkai Heavy
B:321 Stars Doubles
I had tons of fun at the place: the people were cool, the place sold water for 50Cents, and I played for 3 hours.
Today back at home I finally accomplished what had taken me at least 60 plays to do: AA Drop Out, with 12 greats to boot.
Anyway, I also played for about three hours today and got my 100th AA! It was Can't Stop Falling in Love Speed Mix. I ended up with 102 total.
Funny, one of the ones I got today was 1998. For some reason it had been giving me trouble!
Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
I am totally losing my taste for playing at home. The arcade is where it's at. :)
Ok, i haven't been here in a while but here are a few new things:
AA'd So Deep again but this time with 18 greats
AA'd Irresistiblement with 5
AA'd Sakura Oni on Shuffle - which wasn't as hard as i thought.
AA'd some other songs that i got on Random, since i didn't know what song to pick. =)
Oh i almost AAA'd Let the Beat hit 'em (again) and Sync but to no avail.
I played at my friend's house yesterday, who by the way just got a new CF pad for his birthday, and didn't really do much.
It's really hard to find yourself on a Cobalt Flux, so I did terrible on it, but now that he's got two pads, he's going to start owning me at doubles. :(
Hopefully I'll get to go to the Dance Beat Arcade on Monday, before they close for good on December 31st.
And maybe, if my e-mail I sent them works, I can get the New theater in Chattanooga to buy off one of DBA's machines....
