Progress Reports and Accomplishments

I've moved up to standard now. The highest I can get is a B though. It took me three or four tries to do Break Down on standard. And of course, I got a D. But that song is hard to me.

Some other good standard songs you guys could try are Exotic Ethnic, Heaven is a 57' so and so, Air, and A, among others. Those are good for the 5-6ft players. Paranioa Evolution was a song i swore by on light mode when i was a 6fter as well. :) That one's a lil fast though

Today i just surprised myself.

New Accomplishemnt update:

1st round: by the extrastage, i full comboed the entire round; AAing the songs, and i wanted to full combo the entire round, extra stage included, so decided to play Spin the Disc as the extra stage. And what do i do? Mess up. >_< I did have a final combo of 1429...but still...anyway, onto better news:

2nd round: Nothing special except for a Full combo AA on exotic ethnic, WITH 8 GREATS! O_o that, i did not expect.

3rd round: The pads were now surprisingly sticky. I dunno how they got that way, but they felt great. I tried getting a better grade on Sakura, so i tried that first round. I ended up with an A again, though. Next i tried MaxX Unlimited because i was feeling good about it at the time (make no mistake i was still tired from previous rounds, but i was still feeling good about it). I usually play it on 1x since i can barely pass it on 1.5x, but i went ahead and put it on 1.5x. The result was a resounding A (i know i earned it). =)

I played Paranoia Survivor as my 3rd song since i was already in the 10fter groove, and I ended up with an A as well (almost full comboing the end stream). By now i was practically dead, and was tempted to go to light as my last song, but i said to myself that i wanted to get A's on an entire 10ft run. So i while i was dripping with sweat, i walked around the DDR, catching my breath, while MAX 300 played repeatedly in the background. I took advantage of the option select screen when the song selection timer ran out (because i will gladly take as much rest as i could get, and i didn't feel like holding down one of the arrows to stop the timer). So the song began, and i went all out on one of my most familiar 10's. Letter grade:

Yahoo! I finally got an A on Standard mode! I think it was the Whistle song, but I am actually not sure! Hah! It was lots of fun though. I got an A two times. I had to do that song like 5 times until my mom got an A on beginner mode! :)
I got an A on standard, it was on one of the songs in blue. It wasnt really that hard. But it was still an A.

This might be a dumb question, but I was in the arcade today playing DDR Extreme and Standard seemed really easy, on all of the songs, is DDR Ex easier than DDRmax2?

Back again! Of course I took him up on the offer! Nothing spectacular came of it, though. I tried some Oni's, didn't pass any, but I got really close to passing the Classic and Dancemania Oni's. I also tried Legend of Max which wasn't all that bad, till it got really bad :).

Yesterday at the arcade:

Full comboed Captain Jack, but had almost 80 greats, so no AA for me. Oh where is my PA? Also ONE miss on Cartoon Heroes. It was near the very end and I almost had a 400 combo!

On Nonstop I also full comboed Broken My Heart and Fantasy (the 9-footer). I probably didn't AA either of them cause of my awful PA, but I did get an A on both of the sets that they were in.

xTTDx - the step patterns are the same for any given song in whatever games it appears in, so no, Extreme is no easier than MAX2. Maybe the MAX2 machine you were playing on had bad pads. (ooh, nice assonance).

Well, now that I have a decent place to play (see "The perfect DDR spot" thread), I anticipate getting my AA count up. I got three more last night: TwinBee (22 greats); Senorita; and Mobo Moga (23 greats). That makes 12 arcade AA's for me. Weirdly, those are my first three that aren't 6th-mix songs.

I got my first A in Heavy. Yay. It was on The Shining Polaris on max2. And I can do alot of Heavy songs now. I'm getting better. Everyone should be proud of me.

I'm proud! =D And great job to Den (nice AA's!) and AB (near full combo on CH?! I can't even do that)! Well, here's what i HAVE done lately:

Afronova Full combo again, this time with 11 greats. =)

Full combo on EE yet again, but i SDG'd it for the first time with 8 greats. I just love that song, i really do.

Healing Vision: Angelic Mix: i didn't full combo this one, but i did cut my great count in half. My best is 19

And last but not least, is Rhythm and Police: Again, no full combo (boo), but i got down to 14 greats (yay) so slowly i'm getting better. =)

In other news: I took first in a lower division tournament 2 saturdays ago. It was 8ft rated songs and under. Except fot the Semifinals, where only 1 9er was allowed. The qualifying song was 1998 on heavy. The whole tourney was alot of fun, and i finally have earned a little respect among those crazy DDR Freak players, lol The highlight of that tournament was 8 greats on Paranoia Evo (done by yours truly) but i didn't think it was much compared to PSMO being AA'd on doubles by Adam a.k.a. AWE. He took first in the upper division.

Songs i'm struggling with right now are: The Least 100sec, and Leading Cyber.

yeah i still step on those stupid arrows... ...so what? >_>
Kel, dang, nice work! And congrats on the tourney. Leading Cyber is freaking hard, and I haven't played it since the day I beat it.

Something just occurred to me last night: the songs I'm really good at, I never play at the arcade, because I'm tired of playing them at home. I bet I've got at least 30 AA's just waiting for me on songs I've never played on an arcade machine (i.e. Spin the Disc, Kind Lady, Look to the Sky, Wild Rush).

Thanx, Den! ^^ Yeah LC is one of those songs where you can't really sight read it because it has so many different step patterns, you almost have to know the steps to the entire song, so you know when to hit 'em. Not close to AAing at all...

and speaking of AAing. I think you need to get back to the arcade Den, and bust out some mad AA's. All of those songs you mentioned are definitely in your reach. No doubt you have more at your disposal. Go get 'em!

yeah i still step on those stupid arrows... ...so what? >_>
I got to play on an Extreme machine last night since I'm in St. Louis visiting my sister, and I accomplished....

NOTHING!

I failed songs two out of three times, and couldn't beat the likes of Waka Laka, Daikenkai, and Captain Jack.

And I think the pads were screwy too, because I saw a guy hit every note on Exotic Ethnic and Rythm and Police, yet only get A's because he would get two or three random misses. Plus, it was nearly impossible too hold long freeze arrows.

And plus, why do the arrows scroll so fast on Extreme, and not on PS2 Max2 which came out later?

Chattanooga needs a ITG2 Machine!
The only reason I can think of arrows scrolling faster on Extreme is cause of speed mods. My arcade has a Max2 and an Extreme and there's no difference between the scrolling speeds at 1x, that I've noticed.

Anyway some accomplishments for me:

Full-comboed V Oni! No AA, though.

And FC'ed a Dancemania Nonstop that consisted of:

Fantasy (the 9-foot)
Witch Doctor
Waka Laka
Synchronized Love

Probably the most difficult nonstop I've ever comboed. I didn't even have shoes on either (long story). I noticed I could move my feet easier, especially during the 16th's during the chorus of Fantasy. Comboed them no problem, whereas with shoes I've comboed them before, but definitely not as easily.

Wow...

just....wow

*applauds* I would've liked to see that. :) I've never FC'd Fantasy, but i have the other 3. Fantasy is much too hard, especially the 16ths. Yeah i can get away with maybe a good here and there, but it's still enough to break a combo. Mad kudos.

I would think that playing without shoes whould kill your feet, especially if they slide over the screws holding the metal brackets down, but i remember FC'ing So Deep for the first time in my bedroom slippers (on an arcade pad). *shrugs* Maybe you have a better feel of the pad or something...i dunno

In any case...i'm impressed, nice job on V (oni) as well!

yeah i still step on those stupid arrows... ...so what? >_>
I think Fantasy (MAX) is one of the hardest 9-footers, along with Cartoon Heroes, Orion 78 Civ Mix and Gradiusic Cyber. Nice work.

I brought my AA count up to 20 the other day in about an hour. See normally at the arcade, I spend the whole time playing catas and songs that I can't play at home, but not anymore. I'm playing everything now, until I get at least 50 AA's. Baby Baby Gimme Your Love, here I come! :)

I just AAA'd Bag on 1x heavy. No j/k that song looks impossible, but I saw someone do it. But yeah I did maxx unlimited on Heavy today. So w00t for me.
It's been a while since I've last posted, but I've accomplished a lot with in my last posting.

My main goal has been to reduce the number of greats on songs and more or less to perfect some minor flaws in technique. Also my main prblem was stamina, but I'm not a big guy at all. (I'm 15 and weigh 130 lbs.) Having said that, I've gone beyond my expectations. Here are some new records for me:

Max 300: B
Sakura: B (First time passing it too.)
Cartoon Heroes: B
Burning Heat!: 1 miss... >_<

Most songs I can AA now are having greats within the 10-20 range, so I'm getting somewhat close to the AAA.

I got an A on standard mode, C in heavy, and almost an AAA in beginner mode. I had one great.... Hopefully I will get AAA soon. I have all A's on beginnger mode, and I'm working on all AA's. I also have an A in light mode, double player.
Notable accomplishment: I AAA'd Mobo Moga and Irresistiblement on Light ^^;;

Other than that...nothing new
