I also went there last Saturday and got my AA total up to 136, including three new 9-footers (Be Lovin', Paranoia KCET, Frozen Ray).
It sucks to see arcades go. Especially if you've grown attached to them. I guess i'm fortunate i didn't like the nearby Gameworks.
As for DDR news, I AAA'd Let the beat hit 'em again, and earned better AA's on songs i've done already but that's about it ^^; I think i'll enter a tournament later on, i can see myself getting better.
I hate to see arcades close. When I was in college (1994-98) I lived within walking distance of two small, independent arcades (the type that is just a room with video games -- no go-karts, mini-golf, etc.). One had all the cutting-edge new games and the other focused on classics. It was awesome.
I bet the one would have DDR today if it was still open. Alas, it's a Quizno's Subs now :( :( (and the other one is a bar)
Before the mall near me started hating teenagers, they had an arcade that must've had 100+ machines. I was too young to care then, but man, that arcade looked cool. *** Edited 12/19/2004 10:31:38 PM UTC by thepinkdoomofmonkeys***
I A'd Sakura. wOOt for me.
And...I SDG'd a song at the arcade.
Look to the Sky(true color mix)-8 greats. double wOOt!
The only song i couldn't beat is now under my belt. =D (thas whadi'm talkin' 'bout)
On another note i've also managed to get my Legend of MAX score up to a B.
Now my next goal i'm focused on is consistantly beat it. I'm also striving towrds a AA on Cartoon Heroes, but that song is just too hard. =( I'll keep trying tho.
I swear as soon as I beat LOM, I'll get an A on it. I can tap out the rhythm perfectly, but I can't translate that to my feet. Can't even get to the freeze.
And PSMO, well, I'll get to that in a few months...:) Good job.

I know exactly how you feel. That's what's been holding me back from getting better at that song. To help myslef what i did was i'd "play" LOM with my feet in my room. But i wouldn't move my feet in a different direction, i'd just step out the rhythm, including the jumps, since that gives me the most trouble.
Seems kind of silly i know, especially since there's no actual music playing (i just recite it in my head) but the point of it is to introduce your body to that sort of...ahem..."steppage" so when you do the real thing, your legs wont freeze up.
Thanx for the congrats guys, i really appericiate it. =)
And Den, try out PSMO if you get a chance. Maybe if you get a free game or something. That hard part about it is not the steps, because the rhythm is easy to pick up. It's just the amount of breathing room you get, which is barely any.
Just use as little energy as you can until you get to those streams at the end then give it your all. If it helps, just know that the song is slower than MAX300 (didn't help me...but it may help you guys). =D
The only real progress I've made is with Frozen Ray. I've been trying to pass that for a long time, but always screwed up in the triplets/turns section. Well last week I finally made it through that part! But then I completely bombed the final quarter note section. Oh well. Try again next time...
Tommy P.
Also full-comboed Bag for the first time (my first 10-footer FC). But with 91 greats. :)
Yeah i'm trying to AA bag, but it's so hard to PA...my best great count is probably around 80 or 90 myself...
Recent new AA's include Drop Out w/ FC (i think i got 30 greats or so) and a bunch of 8-7 fters i don't remember. ^^;
Max 300
Gradiusic Cyber(urgh)
Love This Feeling(horrible song and steps)
Gentle Stress(I had it once, but too many pad misses)
Secret Rondezvous(too dang slow)
Healing Vision: Angelic Mix(double step=great city)
Orion.78 Civi.(Step jump, Step jump)
Trip Machine Climax(See Orion)
My pad is also in bad shape. I can't wait to go to my friend's house, just so I can get an A(which I know I can get) on Max 300. *** Edited 2/1/2005 3:08:57 AM UTC by thepinkdoomofmonkeys***
I'm finally getting to the point where I can pass "Max Unlimited" most the time.
I'm sure this has come up but have any of you tried that cheap DDR for the Gamecube.. I wanted to know if it was anygood.
i'm not sure what to put here..
I just unlocked Afronova so i went ahead and AA'd it real quick. Did a few nonstop courses also, but i'm still trying to AA MaxX Unlimited...hard i tell ya...hard.
As for the arcade...nothing to report. =/
New Arcade AA's
Crash
Senorita(Speedy Mix)
Ecstasy
Living In America
Waka Laka
Sobakasu Freckles
Butterfly(tee-hee)
Trip Machine
Drop The Bomb
Drop The Bomb(System Fs Mix)
Heaven is a 57(w00t)
Frozen Ray
321 Stars
Twinbee -Generation X-
A
DXY!
Sync (for Extreme)
Spin the Disc
I know that list is pretty weird, but that was just me playing around and getting those. I improved my scores a lot, and I missed a lot of AA's just by missing to many steps.
And here's something I'm proud of...
Look to the Sky(True Color Mix)-4 greats.
pinkdoom, nice jorb on Heaven Is... and Waka Laka, especially. Try Butterfly Oni... it's kinda tricky.
Look to the Sky(True Color Mix)- 2 greats.
And I tried some Oni courses. Failed World Tour on Afronova, failed From IIDX on DXY, and failed Paranoia Brothers on the first song.

I've got 157 AA's now, but I've kinda forgotten about DDR since In the Groove came out. Especially since the ITG machine is less than 5 miles away, and the only Extreme in town worth playing is 20 miles away.pinkdoom, nice jorb on Heaven Is... and Waka Laka, especially. Try Butterfly Oni... it's kinda tricky.
I know alot of people who play in colombus... ITG and such, Mike, Pat, Steve, Java, ect.
