Sakura is fast, but has no real 8th-note runs to speak of. The slow part after the freeze is a little tricky, but if you look at the step chart and figure out the rhythm, it's OK.
Bag's rhythms are just weird and it's so freaking slow, but at x3 I'd give it 8 feet. It's only 10 feet at x1 (I still can't beat it that way).
So my first "real" 10-footer was Max 300 (which I've still only beat 3 times, and never in the arcade).
I happen to LIKE Bag, hehe. I can pass it with a B on 1.5x, but the reason you might think it's weird is because of the nature of the song. It's an Irish jig, so NATURALLY, it would seem weird. It has a good step pattern once you learn it, but even still, agreed again that at 1x, it's not easy.
It's been a while since I've been here and its good to see some new names.
For me, a few new songs. I did pass Bag x2, but x1 screws with my mind.
Finally got a B on Cartoon heroes. (Is it me, or is this one of the hardest nine footers?)
Missed a FC on Rythm and Police (sp?) by 4 steps.
As for seeing the steps in your head, I though I was just crazy... maybe I'm not alone. :D
Circus Circus: I played DDR there, and was in awe at the sight of a genuine (well as genuine as a bootlegged DDR machine in the US) 1st Mix. I didn't play but it was nice to see one. They also had 2 Extremes right next to each other, a 4th plus and a Disney's Rave thingy. One of the Extremes had edit stepcharts already put in the machine (like the DDR at James' Games. I tried at Drop Out edit there called Drop Dead as one my last songs (because i was warned to do so). Let's just say this is a stamina destroyer...nothing but 8th runs from start to finish with the infamous Drop Out jumps included. I couldn' pass it because of the mere fact that i almost died on stage (i shouldn't have played Max300 prior to Drop Dead =P).
NASCAR Café: Why is it that DDR USA attracts the most people? Of all mixes… Anyhow I only played one round, and I heard some guy was talking smack saying he was better than I was, but he took the time to memorize entire stepcharts for his songs. Not something I have time (nor patience) to do. J
Gameworks: Probably the best Gameworks out here, definitely the best Gameworks I’ve been to. Again the USA had a larger crowd, but the Extreme had quite a few people too. And they were both priced at 99 cents a game (I dunno why they couldn’t have just made things simple and priced it at a dollar ^^;; ) The pads weren’t in the best shape though…that sort of irked me. Overall, I had fun there.
Stratosphere: A tiny arcade with a lone 8th mix. When I walked in I say a guy already playing. I forgot what song he was playing but he was a Heavy player (he was quite good, too). Some other kids were hanging around the machine, so I made my change and put my quarter up. I played a few of my strong songs like Exotic, and Rhythm and Police. One of the kids described my ‘A’ on Max300 as “genius”. Lol I guess…
Buffalo Bills Hotel: On our way back from Vegas we stopped here. And wow, this place is pretty nice (I went on Desperado while here, btw…not the smoothest but it’ll do =)). The DDR Extreme was outside the arcade at the entrance, so any passerby could watch the action. Nothing new here, just me doin’ my thing. J The pads were in good shape too. So I had fun there.
Next time I go to Vegas I’ll go with friends instead of family, so I don’t have to look out for my little brother all the time (he plays DDR as well). =D

4 light AAA'a and 1 heavy AAA (Let the beat Hit Em R&B version).
And a whole lotta blackflags...>_> (1 great from an AAA)

I tried AAing Sakura, but to no avail. Too many misses and greats. I tried the same with Max300 but again too many misses. I got 80 greats though.
Well that's about it from me, i'm waiting to see what new stuff you guys pull off. :) *** Edited 8/25/2004 3:16:36 AM UTC by Kel***
Haven't really done anything great, that I can remember, but I did AA Waka Laka!
Something cool too. My friend's sister's husband does maitenence at a bowling alley with an arcade that has a DDR machine on Sunday's when the alley's closed. He has keys to all the games and said if we wanted we could go along and he could open the DDR machine (it's an Extreme) and we could play as long as we wanted for free. Should I take him up on the offer? :)
Kel: Don't be disappointed on not AAing Sakura. I'd be lucky if I even passed it. You'll eventually get the AA on Max 300.
As for me, well nothing. I've been drooling over Extreme for PS2. :D
I don't have a PS2, so it wouldn't make too much sense for me to drool over it, i still have the good old arcade, tho.
I did something last night I've never done before: I hit all seven of the final jumps in Afronova! I've been working on that crossover string at the beginning (RULRDLRULRDLRUL). If I hit the first few steps, my mind goes into cruise control and I can do that "crab walk" without even thinking about it. But if I miss a step, I miss all of them.
I did make it to the arcade last week and had one meager accomplishment: full-combo Tsugaru Apple Mix. That makes my 11th cata full combo. Still no cata AA's, though, unless you count a 5th-mix AA on CSFILSM.
I also passed my first standard song. With a D of course, but still good IMO. Is there an easy song on DDRMAX2 in standard?
